2 Welcome This guide has been produced to give an overall view of the product range at Wildflower Turf Limited. As you will see the company has a wide range of products that have been developed over a number of years to deliver reliable results in a range of different environments. Wildflower Turf Limited are recognised as the UK s leading supplier of wildflower turf and related products and are proud to have been been recognised in a number of National Awards. The company has its own research facility and is constantly striving to improve and widen its product offering. With the knowledge gained over the years, we have grown numerous bespoke wild flower mixes for a wide range of customers, including several bespoke mixes for the 2012 Olympics. 4 Wildflower Landscape Turf Key product points: A UK native Wildflower Turf suitable for a range of soil types. All ground landscaping applications from 30m² to 10,000m². Shade and drought tolerant. Low Maintenance one to two cuts a year Stock item. About the Product: As a core product Wildflower Turf has been developed by the company using its unique soil-less system that is weed suppressing, easy to handle and delivers a guaranteed wildflower environment. The turf is made up of 34 UK native wildflowers and grasses, with a minimum of 50% wildflowers. To produce this environmentally beneficial product, every effort is made to source sustainable ingredients, for example composted green waste and organic nutrients, as well as carefully monitoring all inputs such as electricity and water. The turf naturally produces a bio-diverse habitat supporting birds, mammals, bees, butterflies and other invertebrate species. 6 Wildflower Bespoke Turf Key product points: Wildflower Turf grown to order Minimum 400m² order size Grown to order About the Product: Wildflower Turf Ltd uses its unique soil-less system to produce turf that is grown to order. The customer chooses their own seed mix (seeds can be supplied by the customer) and within 12 weeks (depending on time of season), the bespoke turf is ready for delivery. Wildflower Turf Ltd uses its extensive experience to work closely with the customer to ensure a suitable mix is chosen to provide the required results. 8 Wildflower Border Turf Key product points: A non-native Wildflower Turf suitable for a range of soil types. A highly colourful, low maintenance and cost effective alternative to conventional garden flower beds and borders. Garden and urban applications from 30m² to 1,000m². Shade and drought tolerant. Low Maintenance one to two cuts a year. Stock item About the Product: Wildflower Border Turf has been developed by the company to provide a highly colourful, low maintenance and cost effective alternative to conventional garden flower beds. It is weed suppressing, easy to handle and delivers a guaranteed colourful flowering environment. The border mix has been specifically designed to extend the flowering season with a variety of colour throughout the season. The turf is made up of 34 UK native wildflowers and grasses, with the addition of approximately 19 non-native perennial flowers, subject to availability. To produce this environmentally beneficial product, every effort is made to source sustainable ingredients, for example composted green waste and organic nutrients, as well as carefully monitoring all inputs such as electricity and water. 10 Wildflower Shade Tolerant Turf Key product points: A wildflower turf for all soil types. All ground applications designed to perform well around trees and shaded areas. From 10m² to 10,000m². Shade and drought tolerant. Stock item About the Product: This Wildflower turf mix has been specifically designed to be installed around high shaded areas, specifically around trees, but is not restricted to this application, it will also thrive in open meadow sites where the extra species will flourish. The turf has been developed by the company using its unique soil-less system that is more drought tolerant than other more conventional methods. The turf has a wider selection of flowers and is made up of 41 different species of wildflowers and grasses, subject to seed availability, with a minimum of 75% wildflowers. To produce this environmentally beneficial product, every effort is made to source sustainable ingredients, for example composted green waste and organic nutrients, as well as carefully monitoring all inputs such as electricity and water. The turf naturally produces a bio-diverse habitat supporting birds, mammals, bees, butterflies and other invertebrate species. Developed to further minimise irrigation with the inclusion of eight SEDUM varieties. Low Maintenance one cut per year. Stock item or grown to order About the Product: Wildflower Roof Turf Plus offers an alternative to pure sedum green roofs. It is easy and light to handle, and quick to establish, combining 4 annuals, 27 perennials, 3 grasses and 8 sedum varieties. The inclusion of sedum gives extra drought tolerance over Wildflower Roof Turf. This product is suitable where access and/or location limit irrigation use. This product can be used in conjunction with our unique Wildflower Roof Substrate. This substrate has been developed to support plant growth whilst free-draining and is lightweight. It is easy to handle and apply, and can be supplied in a unique grow-bag format or in bulk bags. 20 Species Rich Lawn Turf Key product points: A lawn turf that includes 26 species All ground landscaping applications from 400m² to 10,000m². Shade and drought tolerant. 400m² minimum order Stock item or grown to order About the Product: This turf is used as an alternative to a standard monoculture grass lawn, with improved biodiversity to help meet regulatory standards such as BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes. This biodiverse lawn is treated in the same way as a conventional lawn (regularly mown and fertilised) but the flowering species included in the mix are able to survive and thrive with this regime. This is not a colourful solution, but it is species rich. Typical Applications: Lawns, Grassed areas that are subject to regular mowing, Grassed areas that are subject to regular wear. Stock item About the Product: This Wildflower Turf solution has been designed by our research and development department, using our experience with the installation of Wildflower Turf in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems within the UK and liaising with Landscape and Ecology professionals. The species selected, have been chosen to assist in the breakup of pan or soil compaction for maximum water dispersal, whilst remaining established in times of drought or periodic flooding. This solution remains aesthetically and environmentally pleasing, introducing improved biodiversity with very low maintenance required. This turf has been developed by the company using its unique soil-less system that is more drought tolerant than other more conventional methods. The turf is made up of 37 different species of wildflowers and grasses, subject to seed availability, with a minimum of 50% wildflowers. To produce this environmentally beneficial product, every effort is made to source sustainable ingredients, for example composted green waste and organic nutrients, as well as carefully monitoring all inputs such as electricity and water. The turf naturally produces a bio-diverse habitat supporting birds, mammals, bees, butterflies and other invertebrate species.
