2 ARGENTINA NOTICE OF CHANGE IN ARGENTINEAN REGULATIONS Disposition 581-E/2016 Effective January 3, 2017, the Argentinian Government has approved IRAM and CSA Group s Mutual Recognition Agreement. Through the agreement, an IRAM S-Mark can be issued based on acceptance of a CSA Group CB report, benefiting manufacturers with prompt turnaround times by eliminating the need for additional in-country testing. ENACOM publishes new resolutions With the modification of the original regulation SC 729/80, ENACOM has published resolution E/2016 which mandates that a local representative must act as a foreign company s local branch and stated by a notarized statute. The local representative can designate importers who have registered in RAMATEL to use its certificate by the identification of ENACOM. On June 16, 2017, the update to the annex of Resolution 5186-E/2017 went into effect. This update allows for additional frequency bands including GHz and GHz to UWB. Sample requirements are still the same as the LPD standard. ENACOM will also accept FCC or CE reports. BELARUS NOTICE OF MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS IN BELARUS REGULATIONS Resolution No. 849 Belarus has established mandatory requirements for Energy Efficiency, Radio/ Telecom and certain types of cables through Resolution No Based on the specific effective dates indicated below, CU EAC Conformity approval covering applicable CU Technical Regulations (Safety and/or EMC) is not sufficient in order to supply/sell the below products in Belarus. Conformity approval (Belarus Certificate/Declaration) in accordance with Belarus Energy Efficiency/Telecom requirements which is issued by an accredited Belarus Certification Body is now mandatory. Radio/Telecom Requirements Radio/Telecom form of approval for certification or declaration depends on the product in question* and has a validity period of 5 years. A manufacturer can be the applicant for certification whereas a declaration needs to have local/authorized representative. *You may request the full product list from CSA Group.

3 Energy Efficiency Requirements The required form of approval is certification (except for motors, which is a DOC). The following products have an effective date of February 1, 2017: 3.1 Cooling household devices 3.2 Electrical ovens 3.8 General-purpose incandescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps 3.9 TV sets, TV monitors 3.10 Household and office equipment The following products have an effective date of April 2017: 3.3 Air conditioners with power rate up to 12kW 3.7 External power sources The following products have an effective date of September 1, 2017: 3.4 Dishwashers 3.5 Washing machines 3.6 Drying machines Safety Requirements for Electric Cables An effective date of February 1, 2017 has been put in place along with certification as the form of approval for electric cables designed for more than 1000V of AC current and 1500V of direct current. CHILE NOTICE OF CHANGE IN CHILEAN REGULATIONS Safety Requirements for Mobile Phone Chargers In December of 2016, Chilean Safety Authority SEC issued Resolution No approving Protocol PE No. 8/8:2016, which provides safety requirements for mobile phone chargers in accordance with the IEC : for analysis and testing methods. The new regulation has an effective date of March 2018 and applies to both standalone chargers as well as chargers accompanied with the corresponding mobile phone being imported into Chile. Resolution 755 for 2.4GHz and 5GHz Bands Effective January 23, 2017, SUBTEL amends resolution 755 regarding the use of 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. 5GHz Band3 ( MHz) is now open for devices with a maximum output power of 150mW EIRP (indoors and outdoors). The resolution also includes an explanation of the modifications for 2.4GHz & 5GHz frequency bands with new EIRP limits. Previously certified products have a limited time to ensure that their product complies. The new standard is as follows: GB (Luminaires Part 1: General requirements and tests, IDT IEC :2014) Effective date: January 1, 2017 Deadline of updating the current CCC certificates: March 31, 2018 New Standards for Low-voltage Fuses Three standards for low voltage fuses have been updated. All new products are required to meet these new standards. Previously certified products have a limited time to ensure that their product complies. The new standards are as follows: GB (Part 1: General requirements) Effective date: October 1, 2016 Deadline of updating the current CCC certificates: October 1, 2017 GB/T (Low-voltage fuses - Part 2: Supplementary requirements for fuses for use by authorized persons (fuses mainly for industrial application) Effective date: April 1st, 2016 Deadline of updating the current CCC certificates: April 1, 2017 GB/T (Low-voltage fuses - Part 4: Supplementary requirements for fuse-links for the protection of semiconductor devices) Effective date: November 1, 2016 Deadline of updating the current CCC certificates: November 1, 2017 New Standard for Cordless Telephones The standard for cordless telephones has been updated. An update to the certification is not a mandatory requirement for compliance to the new standard. The client may voluntarily choose to issue a certificate according to the old standard (GB ) or the new standard (GB/T ) for its new application. The new standard is as follows: GB/T (Requirements and measurement methods of electromagnetic compatibility for cordless telephone) Effective date: November 1, 2016

5 New Standard for Low-voltage Switchgear and Control Gear The standard for Low-voltage switchgear and control gear has been updated requiring all new products to comply with the new standard. Previously certified products have a limited time to ensure that their product complies. GB/T (Low-voltage switchgear and control gear - Part 6-1: Multiple function equipment - Transfer switching equipment) Effective date: November 1, 2016 Deadline of updating the current CCC certificates November 1, 2017 *If the follow-up factory inspection is scheduled before the deadline of updating the GB standard, a CCC update has to be completed before the scheduled inspection date. China SRRC Starting December 1, 2016, an update was made to Regulation regarding Short Range Device (SRD) - Low Power wireless products. SRRC Type approval will not be required* on RFID: 13.56MHz, 125K, 868MHz, 2.4G SRD, 433MHz and 315MHz. *Note: Wi-Fi (2.4G, 5G) & Bluetooth, 2.4G (spread spectrum) are still in the scope and require SRRC type certification. ECUADOR NOTICE OF CHANGE IN ECUADORIAN REGULATIONS Test Method Base for IEC Effective April 1, 2017, PRTE-128 has confirmed acceptance of the test method base for IEC for safety of computers and peripheral products. Radio Type Approval Framework ARCOTEL has established a new radio Type approval framework and is now under public consultation. Some of the proposed changes to the current regulation includes: Elimination of local testing as a requirement for Type approval, unless ARCOTEL requests samples for exceptional cases. An expiration date of 10 years is now being introduced for all Type approval certificates but must be renewed before the expiration date. ARCOTEL will keep and publish records of valid approval certificates on its website. Existing certificates issued prior to the implementation of the new regulation will remain valid until a new granted validity date.

6 INDIA NOTICE OF CHANGE IN INDIAN REGULATIONS Changes to CIRCULAR No. 2 of 2016 Beginning February 1, 2017, as a requirement of compulsory registration under the Electronics and IT Goods order 2012, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has implemented mandatory BIS approval for detachable power supplies for server/storage devices. Amendment 2 to IS (Part 1): 2010 The Competent Authority of the Bureau has extended the date of implementation of Amendment 2 to IS (Part1):2010 from December 31, 2016 to May 14, INDONESIA NOTICE OF CHANGE IN INDONESIAN REGULATION Declaration of Conformity On February 7, 2017, Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) announced a new policy for paper only Type approval process for mobile phones, handheld computers and tablets. The new policy works in parallel with existing in-country testing procedures while providing manufacturers with an option to choose paperwork only or in-country testing procedures. MEXICO NOTICE OF CHANGE IN MEXICAN REGULATIONS EMC Requirements for Electrical Products Effective May 22, 2017, Mexico has established new EMC requirements for electrical products. Sub-clauses , , , , , and of standard NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2012 (equivalent to IEC ) will be put in place with the applicable sub-clauses of international IEC x standards. This will be based on a list of National Notes, 19NN on page 21/515 of the standard. Software Evaluation Requirements for Electrical Products Effective May 22, 2017, Mexico has established software evaluation requirements according to Appendix R of the standard NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2012, and according to National deviation No. 18 NN, to the reference standard NMX-J-591/1-ANCE.

7 NOM-208-SCFI-2016 Effective April 8, 2017, NOM-208-SCFI-2016 will replace emergency standard NOM-EM- 016-SCFI-2015, which expired on October 19, The new NOM standard draws its technical references from technical disposition IFT The regulation applies to all devices which operate within the frequency bands MHz, MHz and MHz. There is a time-frame expected for local laboratories to be accredited to this standard. In the meantime, manufacturers will still be able to file new Type approval applications to Institute Federal de las Telecommunications (IFT) under technical disposition IFT Local test reports and approval certificates issued under IFT will require updating to reference NOM-208-SCFI-2016 once the accreditations have been obtained. SOUTH KOREA NOTICE OF CHANGE IN SOUTH KOREAN REGULATIONS Starting January 28, 2017 the following KC Safety Law changes went into effect: The frequency of factory inspections for Type 1 safety certification has been reduced from once a year to once every two years. The validity period for Type 2 certification (Safety Confirmation) has changed from 5-10 years to unlimited. A Type 3 declaration (DoC) is required to make a declaration on the Korea Products Safety Association (KPSA) website, with the test report and documents being kept electronically. The Information of President will no longer be required to be shown on a KC certificate. All critical product components should be listed per the specified KC operational rule. The new law will strengthen the penalty for non-compliance issues including: Failure to report to KPSA any changes to the product construction or its components Failure to submit a declaration on the KPSA website for products under Type 3 (DoC) Improper display of KC safety certification information on products sold online TAIWAN NOTICE OF CHANGE IN TAIWANESE REGULATION GSM 900 / DCS 1800 (2G) LICENSE The Taiwan National Communications Commission (NCC) announced GSM mobile communications will expire on June 30, Starting July 1, 2017, the 2G function on all mobile communication terminal equipment that only support 2G, can no longer be used. While the 2G can no longer show in the Type approval certificates, products using cellular technologies 2G, 3G, 4G can still receive approval by the NCC after July 1, 2017.

8 VIETNAM NOTICE OF CHANGE IN VIETNAMESE REGULATION Circular 42/2016/TT-BTTTT Replaces Circular 05/2014/TT-BTTTT On January 12, 2017 the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) released the Circular 42/2016/TT-BTTTT which replaced Circular 05/2014/TT-BTTTT and goes into effect on October 1, The new circular states all previous type approval certificates issued under the current Circular 05/2014/TT-BTTTT will remain valid until their stated expiration dates. Starting October 1, 2017, MIC will begin accepting LTE technology submission for type approval application. From April 2017 to September 2017, batteries used in laptops, notebooks, mobile phones are required to be tested to the standard QCVN101 which is equivalent to both IEC and IEC The report is required to be conducted by the manufacturer or an ISO17025 accredited laboratory. Starting October 1, 2017, MIC will require compliance with item 2.6 of the standard QCVN101 which is equivalent to IEC In addition, the MIC will accept IEC reports as compliance when conducted by ISO17025 accredited laboratory. MIC will accept reports utilizing the following standards; TCVN7189 (EMC), EN550032/ CISPR32, EN55022/CISPR22.
