4 Recommendations SS 3 Electromagnetic or automatic doors or windows 3a 3/1 Automatic Doors Auto Doors shall be inspected to ensure that they open correctly during normal use, and if applicable the failsafe feature works when the power is isolated. Any defects to failsafe doors shall be rectified immediately. Qualified AS 4085:1992 NZS 4239:1996 Appendix A 3b 3/2 Access Controlled Doors Access controlled doors require regular inspections specified by the Manufacturer or supplier to ensure that occupants are not prevented from leaving the building due to lock malfunction and are able to leave the building without the use of swipe cards etc in an event of emergency. Where the door control system is inter-faced to the fire alarm system this needs to be checked at the same time. Please also refer to the Department of Building and Housing Compliance Schedule Handbook (May 2007 Pg. 23) Daily (CS, CL, CO, CM) (other occupancies) Qualified 3c 3/3 Automatic Fire Doors or Windows Forming part of Fire Wall, which are designed to close shut and remain shut on alarm of fire including smoke control doors fitted with hold open devices. 5 SS 4 Emergency lighting systems 4a 4 Emergency Lighting System Older systems from 1971 NZS 6742:1971 Qualified 4b 4 Emergency Lighting System Systems from 1995 AS/NZS 2293 Part 2:1995 4c 4 Emergency Lighting System Photoluminescent System All products are still configured as at installation and there is no material damage to any of these products. All products are clean from general dust build up and any other specific obscuring deposits. All products are clearly visible and have not been covered up by carpet or other materials. All products mark a clear path and have not been obstructed by physical hazards such as trolleys, machinery, partitions, etc. All products can be used to provide clear escape path marking and there has been no change to the configuration of the building which renders the escape path unusable. 6 Qualified All light required to charge the product is operation as designed at installation.
