Overview The INNtouch system is a two-part device (plus power supply) that provides guests with a convenient method of communicating their privacy and service preferences. INNtouch contributes to the ability of the Housekeeping staff to respond to guests needs efficiently. In addition, the system eliminates the need for doorknob tags, which can be inadvertently altered from the corridor. Application Features. In the INNtouch system, the P564 Room Annunciator Plate is located inside the guestroom and provides a guest interface. The guest can press a button to request privacy or room cleaning. The Corridor Annunciator Plate is located in the corridor outside the guestroom and displays to staff the preference selected by the guest from inside the room. If the guest presses INNtouch, the word is written in red on the ; if the guest presses MAKE UP ROOM, a green light appears on the to alert staff. The also contains a doorbell, which chimes in the guestroom via the P564. For further convenience, with the addition of a door switch and small motion sensor inside the guestroom, the INNtouch system allows staff to determine occupancy without ringing the doorbell. This option can further enhance staff efficiency and reduce the need to interrupt guests. In summary, the INNtouch system MAKE UP ROOM Provides an easy method for guests to communicate their privacy and service preferences Reduces the need for intrusions by Housekeeping and other staff Improves staff operational efficiency Eliminates doorknob tags Provides a doorbell for pleasant, efficient requests for entry Offers an optional method for staff to determine occupancy from the corridor Interfaces: The INNtouch system can operate alone or be integrated with other INNCOM products and systems, including INNCOM s centrally controlled Energy Management System (EMS). Integration with INNCOM s EMS offers remote display of guestroom status to Housekeeping and other hotel departments for greater operational efficiency. P564 Safety: The INNtouch system has FCC Part 15 approval for safe operation. INNtouch Components in Decora Covers 1
Technical Overview Figure 1. Component Dimensions The INNtouch components can be ordered to fit an American single- or double-gang box, or a British-style box. The system is composed of three main components plus commonly used pre-assembled connectors. Components included: (1) PS564 12VDC Power Supply (1) P564 Room DND/MUR Room Annunciator Plate (1) Corridor Annunciator Plate (and Doorbell) (1)12 7-pin harness (1) 8 3-pin pre-assembled connector (1) 8 4-pin pre-assembled connector Components optional: (1) S241 Door Switch (1) K292 Motion Sensor (PIR) The INNtouch system operates on 12-volt power supplied by the PS564 power supply or by other INNCOM device, depending on system configuration. The PS564 uses a standard line voltage input and generally mounts in a standard single-gang electrical box. The P564 Room Annunciator Plate is located on the latch side of the entryway door and connects to the external Corridor Annunciator Plate via the provided 6-pin connector cable. The dimensions of the P564,, and PS564 are shown in Figure 1, and the P564 connection headers are labeled in Figure 2. 2
P564 MAKE UP ROOM Figure 2. P564 Connection Headers In addition, an external motion sensor (PIR) and door switch can be connected to the P564 to monitor and indicate room occupancy status. With the PIR and door switch connected, the P564 determines room occupancy by watching for the room entry door to open (indicating room entry or exit) and by monitoring the output of the PIR motion sensor. The occupancy status of the room can be determined by pressing a hidden switch at the bottom of the outside Corridor Annunciator Plate. If the room is occupied, will flash above the doorbell button. Figure 3 illustrates INNtouch s operational modes. P564 MAKE UP ROOM Privacy Button Pressing on the P564 inside the guestroom: Turns on a red LED on the button on the P564 to indicate privacy is active Turns on a red message on the outside the room Disables the doorbell 3
P564 MAKE UP ROOM! Doorbell Button Pressing the Doorbell button on the outside plate: If HAS NOT been set by the guest, the P564 will emit a doorbell ring. If HAS been set by the guest, the P564 will NOT emit a doorbell ring. Check Occupancy Hidden Button Pressing the un-labeled button below the doorbell button checks room occupancy: If flashes above the doorbell button, the room IS currently occupied. Do not enter the room. If the green light below the doorbell button flashes, the room IS NOT occupied. Installation Requirements Figure 3. Control Button Functions! CAUTION: Risk of Shock Ensure AC power has been removed from the circuit powering the PS564 prior to installation. Wiring and wiring connections must comply with all applicable local codes and ordinances. The following procedure provides general installation guidance. Refer to as-built cabling diagrams, installation procedures, and specific commissioning documents. Refer to Figure 2, P564 Connection Headers, Figure 5, Standard Wiring; Figure 6, Wiring for External Doorbell; Figure 7, Wiring for Double Gang Box; and Tables 1 3, Technical Specifications. 4
1. Mount the PS564 Power Supply in a single-gang electrical box above the drop ceiling or any location that allows convenient access to AC power. Note: If connecting to other devices, such as an S217 switch or e4 thermostat, this device may not be needed. Check the site-specific INNCOM cabling or wiring diagram. 2. Mount the Corridor Annunciator Plate in a single-gang electrical box or wall caddy (not supplied) at typical 48 height, latch side of door, outside the guestroom. 3. Mount the P564 Room Annunciator Plate in a single-gang electrical box (not supplied) next to the room light switch, or in a double-gang box with the light switch. If using a double-gang box, connect the P564 GND to the incoming GND (Figure 7). 4. Connect the Red 12VDC wire from the PS564 to the Red 12VDC lead of the 3-pin P564 S5 IN harness. Connect the Brown common wire from the PS564 to the Brown common lead of the 3-pin P564 S5 harness. Each INNtouch kit includes the wiring components shown in Figure 4. 3-pin-to-3-pin harness, PN , 5 ½ (140mm) 3-pin pigtail, PN B, 9 7/8 (250mm) 7-pin pigtail, PN A, 11 ¾ (335mm) Standard Wiring P564 12VDC Power Supply P564 Infrared Eye Expansion port Wiring provided by field S5-Bus out (to )..
