Federal Signal s Models LWMB2 and LCMB2 are constructed of durable cast aluminum and sealed with gray powder coat paint. Easy to install, these units can be wired through the back of the bracket for electrical box mounting or through the threaded hole in the base for external 1 /2-inch conduit connection. Each kit includes a bracket, plate and mounting screws. Easy installation, heavy-duty construction and a professional appearance make the brackets suitable for use in commercial, institution and industrial environments. These brackets are suitable for any Type 3R application in ordinary (non Division 1/Division 2) environments. The LCMB2 and LWMB2 mounting kits may be used with the following Federal Signal models: 121S, 131ST, 131DST, 131C, 141(120V), 141ST, 225, 371, 371L, 371ST, 371DST, AV1, AV1ST, FB2PST and the FB24ST. 3 FEDERAL SIGNAL CORPORATION Synchronous Strobe Module Model SSM SYNCHRONIZE LOW IN-RUSH FEDERAL SIGNAL STROBES Synchronizes strobe lights to 72 flashes per minute Mounts on double-gang electrical box UL1971 Approved for hearing impaired applications Polarized design allows for remote supervision Compatible with select Federal Signal model strobe lights (see chart) The Model SSM, Synchronous Strobe Module, is an electronic timing mechanism designed to energize select Federal Signal low in-rush 24VDC strobe lights simultaneously, while maintaining the ability to remotely supervise the strobe light circuit. This module is designed to synchronize a special series of Federal Signal strobe lights, which meet the requirement for Private-Mode Fire Alarm use, while maintaining the agency approval and environmental rating of the strobe light. The SSM is only compatible with Federal Signal brand strobe lights. See compatible models on the How to Order page. The SSM enables the customer to meet local building codes through a visually appealing single-flash created by the simultaneous control of strobe lights connected to it. Mixed signals are reduced to a minimum as reflection of many light pulses are now viewed as one single flash. The SSM mounts to the plaster ring of a double-gang electrical box, and requires 24 VDC at all times to operate the timing circuit. Screw terminals are provided for field termination of control wiring and a maximum of three non-explosion-proof strobe lights or two Explosion-proof strobe lights may be connected to each SSM. Electrically, the SSM should be mounted in the middle of the circuit, with a maximum cable distance of 100 from the SSM to each Strobe light. Supervision is accomplished the same as without the SSM, with a flash rate of 72 Flashes per minute in lieu of the advertised flash rate for each strobe light. The SSM is capable of switching 6 Amps of current. Please note: Not all strobe lights have the same in-rush current and therefore the SSM s circuit s switching potential may be reduced. The Federal Signal pushbutton stations function like a traditional fire alarm pull station, providing a simple contact closure to activate emergency equipment, audible and visual signals and alarm panels. The push button stations are available in two colors Red or Yellow. The red Emergency and yellow "Evacuation" units have a Push and Turn reset button. The red Fire unit has a Push and Key Lock reset button. Each unit is available with or without a tamper-resistant polycarbonate cover. Covered units work to protect against physical damage to the station and to prevent false alarms without restricting use in emergency situations. When the cover is lifted to gain access to the alarm, a piercing tone sounds, calling immediate attention to the area. The piezo horn is quiet once the cover is closed. Power to the piezo alarm is provided by a 9VDC battery (included). The sounder cover mounts easily over the station with four anchor screws. The terminal block provides easy installation and maintenance. Units mount on existing single-gang electrical boxes or 4" x 4" electrical boxes with plaster ring adapters (customer supplied). Units are UL and cul Listed, meeting Type 3R specifications for outdoor use with the cover and gasket. They are also ADA Compliant (requiring less than five foot pounds for activation). Contact ratings for the Push Button Stations are 3 amps and 1 amp. The Model PSU is available in a range of kva outputs from 1.0 to 7.5 with a choice of battery life of thirty or sixty minutes. Output voltage is 120/240VAC with a choice of operating voltages from 120VAC, 208VAC and 240VAC. Each Federal Signal Uninterruptible Power System provides steady, regulated voltage to /- 3% and features and input power factor correction with less than 10% total harmonic distortion. Double magnetic conversion prevents damaging load-generated harmonics from backing up into the utility lines. System status is communicated via LED indicators and an LCD display, including input voltage, output voltage, percent of battery capacity, percent of load, percent of battery charged, system on, system on battery, low battery warning and alarm.
