3 GREER COMPANY LOHD -985 SYSTEM LOAD INDICATOR The LOHD -985 SYSTEM LOAD INDICATOR is designed for use by the fully trained and eperienced crane operator to aid in preventing overload and/or a To-Block condition. Please revie Figure 1 on the opposite page to become familiar ith the display readouts and key functions. WARNING: The LOHD -985 SYSTEM MUST BE CALIBRATED AFTER PROPER INSTALLATION ON CRANE. CAUTION: At no time may this System be used as a substitute for the ell-trained operator or for adhering to the usual safety practices and precautions required for the safe setup and operation of cranes. 3

4 GREER COMPANY TING MAXIMUM LOAD LIMITS 1. Press The display reads: "Set MAX LOAD, MN" (MAIN). MAX 2. Press or to set correct eight for the Maimum Load, MAIN 3. Press The display reads: " MAX LOAD, WP" (WHIP). 4. Press or to set correct eight for the Maimum Load, WHIP. 5. Press to complete the routine and return to the orking screen. 4

Press The display reads: " PARTS, MAIN." 2. Press or to select number of lines for PARTS OF LINE, MAIN 3. Press The display reads: " PARTS, WHIP." 4. Press or to select number of lines for PARTS OF LINE, WHIP. 5. Press to complete routine and return to orking screen. 5

6 GREER COMPANY ALARM OPERATION CAUTION: A YELLOW SIGNAL FLASHES on the display hen an Overload condition is approaching. The readout on the display identifies the type of problem identified. A HORN BEEPS at 90% of maimum load. MOTION CUT, RED LAMP, and HORN ONLY signify an Anti To-Block Alarm. FULL ALARM: A HORN SOUNDS, RED AND YELLOW LAMPS LIGHT UP, A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DISPLAY and ALL CRANE MOTIONS BECOME INACTIVE hen a full alarm arning limit is reached or eceeded. ALL CRANE MOTIONS ARE DEACTIVATED (if the motion cut system is installed on the crane.) An individualized alarm limit can be set by the operator, if desired. CANCELING ALARM Press ONCE to silence the horn. The red light ill remain on. CANCEL ALARM PRESS and HOLD Cancel Alarm button don until the horn beeps to discontinue the alarms. The display ill read: "ALARMS INHIBITED." All boom motions ill become active again. Press button THREE TIMES to return the System to full alarm condition. NOTE: Any ne alarm, even during the ALARMS INHIBITED mode, ill cause the System to return to the full alarm operation. 6

7 GREER COMPANY MOTION CUTS: (Installation optional) The To Block and Ma Load Alarms prevent inch up, boom don, and etend out, unless the unit as purchased as an "audiovisual alarm only model. ALARM TEST Pressing and holding the lamps, display hile not in any procedure ill sound the horn, light "ALARM TEST" and activate all installed motion cuts. RIGGING MODE 1. Pressing and holding and then pressing ill activate the Rigging mode. All motion cuts and alarms ill be deactivated. NOTE: All alarms and arnings are disabled hile the Rigging Mode is active. 2. Press CANCEL to eit Rigging Mode. This ill restore alarms and motion cut ALARM features. CALIBRATION MODE Press and arros simultaneously to access the Calibration Mode. A prompt ill ask for entry of the key code (see Calibration Manual). Without key code entry, "ACCESS DENIED" ill appear on the display and the normal screen ill return. CONTRAST KEYS Press or to make display letters lighter (up) or darker (don). 7
