PERFORMANCE TESTING IOTA Exit Signs and Emergency Fixtures that are equipped with integral battery and/or optional self-diagnostic capability feature an unobtrusive AC indicator and test switch.

Pressing the Test button on the unit will simulate a power loss situation and switch the unit to the battery supply, verifying proper operation of the internal emergency battery.

11 PERFORMANCE TESTING IOTA Exit Signs and Emergency Fixtures that are equipped with integral battery and/or optional self-diagnostic capability feature an unobtrusive AC indicator and test switch. The AC On indicator will remain lit during normal operation, indicating that the battery is receiving a charge and is in the standby mode. Pressing the Test button on the unit will simulate a power loss situation and switch the unit to the battery supply, verifying proper operation of the internal emergency battery. SELF-DIAGNOSTIC CODES SELF-DIAGNOSTIC OPTION Self-Diagnostics capability automatically conducts periodic testing of the equipment and battery to help prevent problems before a loss of AC power. Self-diagnostic models will conduct a 1-minute test every month, a 30-minute test every six months, and a full 90-minute test every twelve months. The self-testing functions are pre-set at the factory with no need for field adjustment. Self-diagnostic models feature a dual color (Red/Green) led indicator that will be lit Green when ON/ READY and will flash when TESTING. If a fault is encountered, the LED will flash Red. Refer to the chart to determine fault status.
