2 Installation of with Voice-Mate and Theft-Mate All buses located at legacy LES locations in the U.S. & Canada All New buses arriving at any First Student locations This installation project will include 36,916 buses at 360 locations Project Development process started in October (install methodology) Schedule to start in November 2008 (based on Hit List - mostly US locations) Targeted completion of 30,000 by March 31,

4 Will receive updated lists from corporate and verify with local contract managers before scheduling Need to be notified about new/lost contracts And bus transfers to multiple locations

6 What to do when on site Keep cool! Shorts and hats are OK. Drink plenty of water. Open bus windows and doors. (don t forget to close them) Top Ten To Do 1. Check In & Out with the Shop Manager 2. Show I.D. & Pick up supplies 3. Pick up safety vests if needed 4. Get updated bus information 5. Identify if any buses are out of service 6. Arrange for Keys or Master Key 7. Identify restroom locations 8. Ask how late you can work until 9. Identify Lot security issues 10. Make intro to Contract Manager No Smoking is allowed in or near buses - only in approved smoking areas.

7 Park-Outs and Bay Availability Bays and drivers will need to be available to work along with InstallerNet members. Additional coordination will be needed to schedule park-out buses to return to the site for installation. In US with 320 locations reported 2,505 park-outs (13%) In Canada with 51 locations reported 3,749 park-outs (52%)

9 1. Project Manager assigns location to InstallerNet member 2. Ships Installer Kit to installers (3 CCM systems / safety compliant apparel) 3. Contacts location to schedule model bus installation 4. Notifies RMM for inspection and training (or assigned representative) 5. Completes model bus installation at location 6. Receives authorization from RMM to proceed 7. Identifies all buses at location and what s out-of-service 8. InstallerNet ships Bus Kits to location 9. InstallerNet member coordinates remaining bus availability 10. Location schedules park-outs to return for installation 11. Maintenance makes bays available depending on weather 12. Allocates mechanic to move buses and sign-off on installation 13. Authorizes mechanic schedule for nights and weekends if needed 14. Completes buses assigned at the location as soon as possible 15. Requires on-site mechanic to inspect and sign-off on each 16. Daily/weekly progress reports faxed to InstallerNet (managed online) 17. InstallerNet ProTeam final location inspection visit

11 Diagnostic Mode Testing Note: This procedure takes approximately 1 Minute: The latest Version of Firmware for EP2 s has been released. This version allows a technician to put the EP2 into a diagnostic mode to assist in testing and/or troubleshooting the EP2 and it s system components. Follow the steps below and in the order listed, to properly diagnose Theft-Mate. Cycle the key on/off 3 times, quickly, with-in 8 seconds. The EP2 will sound the firmware version for the program currently stored in the EP2. Example F.S 1.3 One long tone, 3 short tones and gives the voice annunciation will be Diagnostic Mode Version 1.3. EP2 Check 1. Turn the ignition switch to the on position. a) The EP2 will sound an audible alert, the voice annunciation will be Ignition On * Confirm that the dome lights illuminate at this point 2. Activate the Red Over head flashers. b) The EP2 will sound an audible alert; the voice annunciation will be has been activated. 3. Activate (depress brake pedal) the brake lights. c) The EP2 will sound an audible alert; the voice annunciation will be Brake Input Activated. Once all three inputs have been activated, the EP2 s voice annunciation will be The EP2 self check is now complete. All inputs to the EP2 are correctly connected. Motion Sensor Check Activate the motion sensor (wave hand in front of sensor) The blue light needs to be on/off 3 times. The EP2 s voice annunciation will be Motion Sensor Activated. If the EP2 does not see the 3 motions within 40 seconds, the EP2 voice annunciation will be Motion Sensor Not working RVT Check Shut the ignition off, the EP2 will sound, turn the ignition switch back to the on position, depress the RVT for approx. 3 seconds, the EP2 s voice annunciation will be Child Check has been deactivated 3 on/off Cycles, Quickly Video coming soon

13 Installation Methodology EP2 & OEM Harness EP2 Relay Identify best location for EP2 and relay mounting. Make sure wires are routed down so that water is not trapped in EP2 or relay. Be careful to avoid hazards when routing wires. Don t follow other accessory installation practices - use only our required methods and materials!

14 1. Remove panel 2. Drill 3/8 hole 3. Use grommet 4. Mount RVT 5. Connect wires Make sure to use the star washer on top, rear of RVT between the RVT back and buses' metal surface. Use good ground to chassis. Use white cover with tab up (cover s hole)

15 Product & Installation: Installation Methodology Motion Sensor (Theft-Mate) Preferred J 1. Identify best location - high, front and center as possible 2. Drill ¾ hole 3. Clean up shavings 4. Route Motion Sensor Cable 5. Plug-in and mount Do not cover stickers on header, although covering a Blue Bird or similar sticker is O.K. Motions Sensor Cable Acceptable K Improper L Avoid any mounting locations that will diminish proper operation of Motion Sensor or obstruct operation of any of the bus s OEM or aftermarket devices

16 Product & Installation: Installation Methodology Speaker (Voice-Mate) 1. Identify best location (near driver) 2. Drill 3/8 hole or loop over plastic 3. Route speaker cable 4. Mount speaker bracket to a metal surface 5. Affix speaker to speaker bracket 6. Connect speaker cable to speaker harness, and then plug into EP2.

21 Safety Glasses Safety First, Always! Safety Vest must be worn at all times (alternative bright green t-shirt allowed) Steering wheel covers prevent the bus from being moved while in service Lock-out/Tag-out procedures are used for securing vehicle keys MAKE SURE no tools are left behind!
