3 C H I L D S A F E T Y O U T D O O R S A F E T Y Plug Into Safety with Tamper-Resistant (TR) Receptacles CHILD SAFETY Every home today should be outfitted with Tamper- Resistant Receptacles, a safer alternative to standard devices. TR Receptacles help protect children from electrical hazards that can occur if they attempt to insert a foreign object into a receptacle. A shutter mechanism inside the TR device will help block access to the contacts from anything but a two-prong plug. Required by the 2008 NEC code in new construction, they are equally as critical in older homes. Our selection covers every need, including GFCIs, weatherresistant and combination devices. Decora Tamper-Resistant Receptacle One of many duplex TR receptacles in our collection, it easily replaces plastic caps and shuttered wallplates for a permanent tamper-resistant solution. Cat. Install occupancy sensors for a safer, hands-free environment. Occupancy sensors ensure lights will turn on when needed and off when a space is vacated. They have the added benefit of helping to conserve energy, an important asset in an eco-conscious world. Decora Wall Switch PIR Occupancy Sensor Installed in laundry or utility rooms, this PIR occupancy sensor covers a 180 field of view and 400 sq. ft. Cat. No. PR180-1L bedrooms and near stairs, where extra illumination is needed. The Sensor LEDs turn ON and OFF automatically based on ambient lighting and last long, with no bulbs to replace.
