Remotely located modules. With R communications, the transponder can remotely provide the same initiating and notification functions that occur at the host control panel without requiring multiple long distance wiring runs. onnections to the host panel are low current communications and audio wiring with distances up to 2500 ft (762 m). dditional Reference. 2 Module Bay Description ransponder model includes a bay assembly, a power distribution interface module (PD), a Basic ransponder nterface Module, and an interconnect harness. ommunications with the host fire alarm control panel are via a Remote nit nterface (R) connection that allows for up to 2500 ft (762 m) distance. R can communicate with up to a total of 31 remote devices and can be either Style 4 or Style 7 communications. ransponder model substitutes a ransponder Module for the Basic ransponder Module. R and R+. R+ provides isolated Remote nit nterface communications for improved noise immunity. During local mode operation, an optional ontroller will indicate status (see illustration below) and can be enabled using a keyswitch to perform local alarm silence or reset. f alarms occurring during local mode are reset using a ontroller, upon restoration of communications, those alarms will not be sent to the master controller. f alarms are still present upon restoration of communications, then the alarm condition will be reported and host fire alarm control panel programmed alarm functions will occur. When communications are re-established, the local mode transponder restores automatically. Mounting. ontrollers are mounted on three-gang plates, are available in beige or red, and for either flush or semi-flush mounting. (See page 7 for details).
