2 WisSAFE began in 2012 with a coali3on of the Fire Service, State of Wisconsin Departments, and Private Partners all working together The goal of every organiza3on is to prevent fire deaths in this state.

4 Mission Statement The mission of the Wisconsin Smoke Alarm Fire Educa8on (WisSAFE) Commi<ee is to enhance and improve the life safety of all Wisconsin residents and fire fighters through the educa8on, installa8on and maintenance of residen8al smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. To provide the people of Wisconsin with factual fire preven8on informa8on and educa8on; safety advantages and benefits of smoke and carbon monoxide alarm systems and how they address life safety from fire in the home and helping to reduce occupant evacua8on 8mes. Provide targeted homes in need of the installa8on of life-saving smoke alarms. Partner with state and local governments, fire service organiza8ons, ci8zens, and other stakeholders to comply with state requirements calling for smoke alarms in every dwelling.
5 Vision Statement Dedicated to the people of Wisconsin, living now and in the future in their dwellings by providing fire safety, early warning and home evacua8on planning educa8onal materials, including working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, thus protec8ng families from death or injuries, and protec8ng their personal property from the devasta8ng effects of fire.
6 WisSAFE is a statewide program All fire departments have an opportunity to get involved and protect the ci3zens in their own community.
7 WisSafe began by targe3ng school districts, determining which homes needed smoke alarms. Osceola school was the first successful program with 79 smoke alarms installed by the local Fire Department
8 Fire Deaths in Wisconsin
9 2015 Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Founda3on was awarded a grant to install smoke alarms in the Milwaukee area. This grant was amended to include the en3re state and became part of the WisSAFE program
10 1 st Dona3on to WisSAFE Wisconsin Alliance for Safety contributed $5,000 for the program
11 Smoke Alarm Installa3on in the home: 10 year sealed tamper proof lithium batery units. Kidde Model i9010 Install the needed amount of smoke alarms per State of Wisconsin and manufacturers instruc3ons
