2 Questions for Each South East State. How many Acres Main Variety Problems during Spring Planting Concerns, Thoughts, or Points of Interest for During the 2015 Growing Season.
3 Scott Monfort GaO6G 85% Problems: Season started off hot with soil temps in the 70 s the first of April. Then turned off wet and cool slowing down planting. May was hot and dry. Thrips pressure has been severe most of May with moisture and seed quality has lead to some pretty poor stands in late May and early June. Increased acres with Short Rotations ---- Disease? Planting Season April 1 st to June 30th Fertility toxicity and deficiencies showing up Crop Looks good as a result of recent rains.

8 Kris Balkcom Mostly GaO6G with several high oleic varieties Concerns: Delayed planting due to wet April and intense May rains. Planting about to finish up. Late crop with some stand issues and the third year of late thrips flights with heavy pressure. Some White Mold and increase in TSWV Need good rainfall during August and September to have a respectable yield to match up with price.

Concerned about Northern crop needs to catch up heat units. Disease starting to show up Overall Crop look good as a result of recent rains

21 2015 Acreage less than K. A change from spring. Valencia A and C along with H & W -101,102, and 118. Frequent rains (7.4 in) in May delayed planting. So far There year to day total rainfall is in. with an average of 18 in. Crop looks great Naveen Puppala
22 2015 Acres still unknown but could be 140, Varieties: Mainly Virginia s with the rest split between Runners and Spanish. Extremely wet conditions delayed planting with cool conditions compounding the problems by delaying emergence. Late season weather will play a huge role for crop maturity. Need a warm and open fall to mature the crop. Tighter margins have some worried about financing. Jason Woodward
23 Not sure on 2015 acres. 12,000 in 2014 thought 2015 maybe down some. Varieties: Red River Runner, TamRun OL11, TamNut OLO6, Gregory Extremely wet Ft. Cobb Station had 23 in since mid- April. Not many acres planted and he is a month behind on research plots. Its nice to say WET, WET, WET. However not many peanuts have been planted in May and some fields have had 4-5 feet of water go across them. But the lakes are full. Concerned about the Farm Bill and Price. Todd Baughman
24 Maria Balota 2015 estimate 20,000 ac Varieties: Bailey on 85% with some new runner acreage O9B and Fl O7 April was wet but dried up in May with hardly any rain. Only concern no rain to activate herbicides.
