Leak w/gutters & cage, owner & contractor worked together & problem was resolved Several Fabri-tech & Screens Fast had contracts together & Screens Fast did not have a license on Sanibel. Both contractors went to the CRB. Fabri-Tech Alan Smith was fined $400 & took the Business & Law course. Kurt Meyer-Screens Fast paid a fine $400 took Bus. & Law also & received a license through CRB for screen repair. Several 03/2006 Harald Montague had some permit applications signed by Tina Girvin (Storm Smart) which he submitted for permits under Affordable Roofing doing roofs & he did not have a license. Information was sent to DBPR Tina is a state certified contractor. CRB suspended Smart Roofing s license to work on Sanibel. Several 03/2006 Multiple permits pulled under Smart Roofing license holder Tina Girvin & pulled permits under Affordable Roofing. Harald not licensed with the City & Tina Girvin stated she did not sign those permits. Harald submitted an application to for a roofing license he went to CRB but the application was not complete & he was 710 Birdie View Pt Harbour Lane Strothers 9224 Dimmick Drive Herms denied a license Owner signed contract for sc encl that stated 120 days to install. Numerous phone calls, letters & promises. Finally did sc. encl., final inspection approved ATF No Permit needed ATF permit for sc. encl, owner wanted deposit back after termination of contractor.. Case scheduled for Board Owner Mr. Strothers notified us he received deposit check from Bartoe Aluminum , case was cancelled to Board Issue with spray crete on pool deck; peeling, holes & left a mess. Case# went to CRB explaining above & that the contractor had not received the rest of his money. Home owner had another guy come to paint over before original contractor could fix issue which original contractor never had this problem before. CRB suspended contractors permitting privileges on Sanibel until resolved between both parties Permit was submitted to Sanibel Bldg. Dept for 1 electric shutter. Permit was reviewed & ready for pick up , contractor was notified. The contractor was notified on 3 separate occasions that the permit was ready but never picked up the Bldg. inspector went to 1272 Isabel to find that the shutter had been installed without the permit. Harold Law, Building Official spoke with the license holder Sisto Romao & told him to pick up the permit & get an inspection otherwise it would be a case to the CRB. Permit did not get picked up was on for CRB Permit fee was double for After the Fact permit, final inspection done & approved ATF Sanibel Ordinance Section 15 (k) proceeds on any construction job before obtaining City Building Permits and thereafter obtaining all code required inspection approvals before proceeding or covering unapproved work; and violation of Florida Building Code working without required permits, and revocation of permit Complaint received stating Mr. Kilchenman sent Advanced a letter breach of contract & asked to resolve deficiencies. It was found that the permit that was requested & issued was for a tear off, metal roof. A flat roof was also removed; the permit was rescinded & revoked (091608) until permitting & code violations are corrected Case has been postponed to CRB, contractor & home owner working to resolve issues Violation of Sanibel Ordinance Section 15 (c) willfully disregards and violates any applicable state or Florida Building Code, regulation or law and violation of Florida Building Code Amended construction documents. Work shall be installed in accordance with the approved construction documents, and any changes made during construction that are not in compliance with the approved construction documents shall be resubmitted for approval as an amended set of construction documents.
