6 The side tables BASIL were born from the desire of Arthur Leitner to use the natural qualities of cork. He has associated the solidity and lightness of a structure in steel with a geometric table top in cork (sphere, pyramid, parallelepiped). The strength of the object comes from its simple aesthetic and it is without complexes that BASIL can move from a side table next to a sofa to a bedside table. " The wish to use the natural qualities of cork resulted in the creation of BASIL a set of side tables. The steel structure sets in motion the metallic aerial structure and the density of the cork tabletop. The geometric shapes contribute to the simple aesthetics of a piece which is stripped down to its essentials." 10 AMANDINE CHHOR & AÏSSA LOGEROT Amandine Chhor (born in 1983) and Aissa Logerot (born in 1981) are both graduates of Ensci Les Ateliers ; they have been collaborating for over two years on projects that aim to sustain crafts in developing countries. They also work individually, Amandine in the R&D depar tment of Hermès, and Aissa as an independent designer. «As we are complementary in our work and share the same idea on design, we have worked on a range of tables for Petite Friture, initially thought for crafts, and today re-adapted to be produced in series.» ARTHUR LEITNER Born in 1986 in France, Arthur Leitner has a degree in architecture. During his years studying, he realized that working on a smaller scale by designing furniture and objects suited him better as it was more in tune with his creations. In order to pursue his interests, he worked for the studio Campana in Brazil where he developed a special interest in Brazilian culture and craftsmanship. Back in Paris, he worked at Louis Vuitton for two years. He also participated in developing the Nomade collection, alongside the biggest names in design and crafts. In 2013, Arthur opened his own studio whilst continuing to work on projects for Humberto and Fernando Campana, for the Kreo Gallery or on larger projects in Japan. «Self-taught, I proceed empirically: the conception of a shape or of an idea that can spring from a material, a movement, a specific know-how, or also from more abstract notions such as emotions, moods and feelings. During my creative process, I emphasize on the impact of sharing my work and ideas with par tners, editors, craftsmen, which enhances and conveys my original ideas.» 18 19

11 ELISE FOUIN Born in 1979 Élise Fouin lives and works in Paris. After graduating from l École Boulle she was nominated "talent à la carte" at Maison & Objet in 2010, she also exposed work in the " in Vitro/ Génération Boulle" exposition for the VIA Paris before being integrated into the Pavillion Français at the 100% Design show in London. In 2011 she participated in the " Lampes Tempête" exhibition for Designer s Days, followed in 2012 by exposing for "L Emoi du Design" at the Matadero museum in Madrid. In 2013 Élise Fouin participated in the Design Tour, as well as at the Design Biennale in Saint- Étienne. " My approach to materials and handcrafting techniques is particularly enganced thanks to my double training jewelry crafting and design." AMÉLIE DU PASSAGE Amélie du Passage is the founder and Creative Director of PETITE FRITURE Graduated from HEC in 2003, Amélie du Passage started off her career in the Cabinet of the Minister of Culture Jean - Jacques Aillagon, as a speach writer and in charge of the art market. After a time spent at the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, she joined the French art fair, FIAC as General Secretary beside Martin Bethenod. After 5 years of existence, Petite Friture, has made its mark and brought its own style by signing products with over forty designers, amongst which Claesson Koivisto Rune, Sam Baron and Noé Duchaufour Lawrance. In 2009, she founded Petite Friture and became design editor, with the aim of embodying a different style, and to showcase the emerging scene of French and European design. As a real talent spotter, Petite Friture launched right from the beginning the pendant lamp Vertigo, by the designer Constance Guisset, for whom the product was her first edition and acts today as a real success story; or Tidelight by young designer Pierre Favresse, who has since then become the Creative director of Habitat. In 2013, Amélie du Passage gave a new impulse to Petite Friture by positioning the brand on the furniture market. She launched amongst other pieces the Market chair by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance and then the Nubilo sofa by Constance Guisset. Petite Friture has also developed an offer for the contract market, specific to decorators and architects. In 2015, Amélie du Passage chose the Interior designer India Mahdavi to create a series of tables. From this collaboration was born the Parrot collection, shown at the 2015 Maison & Objet fair. Petite Friture takes part each year in the following fairs: Maison & Objet in Paris, IMM in Cologne, Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and the Stockholm Furniture Fair
