4 1. Introduction The realisation of the, a basic Concept Map on sustainable energy planning, is one of the pivotal activities of E-RESPLAN project. The activity was led by the University of Roma Tre with the cooperation of all partners. The is based on the outcomes of the Intensive course for teaching staff held in Rome from the 13 th to the 17 th of June 2016 a workshop during which staff members from partner organizations were introduced to E-RESPLAN methodology and to the potential and use of C-Maps to enrich the teaching and learning experience on energy-related topics. During the course, project partners staff members divided into working groups and prepared concept maps of the case studies already analysed in Deliverable O1/A3. The steps for the creation of the c- maps were: 1) listing of meaningful and relevant concepts ( parking lot ); 2) creation of meaningful linking phrases connecting the concepts; 3) creation of nested nodes identifying domains of knowledge and/or helping to define a hierarchy in the map; 4) creation of cross links between different sectors or nested nodes of the map. Each group presented its work and started a discussion that helped improving the maps and refining the shared method. The groups were then invited to exchange their maps and try to improve their colleagues works, thus triggering further discussions. In the following pages (see Chapter 2), the results of this activity are displayed, under the form of 18 Concept maps regarding the following case studies: 1. 5 These 18 C-Maps were extensively discussed during the same workshop, and further developed by the partners in the days that followed. Based on these, the University of Roma Tre prepared a comprehensive Concept Map in English on integrated energy planning, called, an interactive resource harmonizing and displaying the information collected in the previous phase of the project, and organising it according to sectors and levels of complexity. This C-Map is also displayed in this document (see Chapter 3). The shows a nested structure with different levels and sub-levels, each bearing useful information of technical and non-technical kind, while the connections will guide the users in the field of integrated energy planning. The will be used as a shared starting point for the construction of OER on integrated energy planning, and a reference point for further developments. The idea is that all partners work on the, developing one or more domain of knowledge (energy planning tools/instruments; actions/measures; financing mechanisms; monitoring tools/methods; data types and collection methods; EU targets and goals), according to their expertise and on the results of the teaching & learning activities that will be carried out in each partner university in the next months. 4
