Inspired by Doncaster s verdant green spaces, Allan uses select plantings to create a perennial microclimate with vertical gardens replacing trees to ensure sunlight touches every aspect of the design. A gossamer web of steel wires urge vines and plantings to take on the vertical dimensions of the built form. Trailing tendrils are perfectly suited to aspect, while at ground level, tiered platforms, linear paths and tapered timber seating and planters draw the eye to central entrance and lift arrival zone. Bordering the area large planter boxes offer a green edge to the ground floor apartments with the dual purpose of adding screening for privacy and filtering the views. Strong botanical patterns and sculpted forms contribute to a dynamic, evergreen design with outstanding visual impact. 8 9
