CEEQUAL The Civil Engineering Environmental QUALity Assessment & Awards Scheme Improving Sustainability in Civil Engineering
Is the environmental performance of all civil engineering projects as good as it could be? Can we tell by simply looking at a project how good its environmental performance might be?
No We can t!
CEEQUAL at CBDG Conference 2008 Why CEEQUAL? ICE s Overall Objective: to improve the environmental quality of civil engineering projects by providing the incentive of an award scheme and associated assessment methods so the scheme is a means to an end, not an end in itself
CEEQUAL at CBDG Conference 2008 So, what in essence is CEEQUAL? a tool for Project Teams to use, to assess how well they have dealt with the environmental issues and many social issues on their projects a mechanism for having those assessments externally and independently verified and recognition gained an evidence-based assessment, not an assertionbased assessment a question set that can be used by Project Teams to influence the development of design and/or construction management
