2 CPTED Definition CPTED is based on the theory that the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the incidence and fear of crime and an improvement in the quality of life. - Strategies are site specific - Can be applied to new and existing projects - Takes an inter-disciplinary approach to crime prevention
