12 Implementations of ACES Solutions Lenel fulfilled needs of Residential & Dining Enterprises, began migration to academic buildings Significant improvement working with VAR directly Developed a training program Began working with departments on separate systems to bring them on to Lenel All voluntary migrations Seeking funding to bring legacy hardware on to Lenel Page 12

13 New Business Model Challenge Graduate School of Business (GSB) Knight Management Center open campus design with many new points of control Needed a technology solution to meet program requirements 300+ doors, not enough funds to support all wired locations Key requirements: Reduce cost/door while meeting the needs of the school Easy to manage students and programs in a highly changing environment Discussions with Onity led to Lenel ILS Page 13

14 GSB chooses Lenel ILS OnGuard ILS: new product to meet the program needs Ability to expand on the new Stanford access control standard Worked with Lenel to pilot wireless in IT Services buildings during construction of Knight Management Center Highly interactive partnership with Lenel for deployment Learned what we didn t know about the locks Learned what was new in the software Chose to run a separate Lenel instance rather than risk putting campus in particular student residences on newly developed software Page 14

15 It All Comes Together Installation at GSB began in January 2011 with first four buildings Steep learning curve with locks in new environment Lenel helped to smooth the bumpy road Dedicated technical support Support at Director and VP level to resolve open issues Installation at GSB concluded in April 2011 with second four buildings Much smoother, learned a lot the first time around Needed to learn how to make the locks work within the expectations of the GSB community With new software we can now support wired, wireless, and off-line in one product Page 15

16 Confessions from Card Services It was harder than a powerpoint to accomplish Universities are not centrally managed organizations they are loosely coupled fiefdoms Know what to leave on the cutting room floor Page 16
