18 5.5.3 ma Output OVAL MIN-E The ma output is optional in multi-channel models of the Oval Min-E Local Display, but it is a default option in single-channel models. The ma output parameters are set in the service menu, submenus H ma Scale DSP and I ma Scale BASE. For more information about these submenu options, see Table of Submenus on page 17, tables H KLD-1 Current output scaling and I KLD-8 Current output scaling. The ma output scale of each measuring channel is set independently. However, the output signal is the same in every channel, 4 20 ma. Each channel has two parameters, scale low and scale high. Parameter scale low defines the 4 ma output level in pulses/min (usually zero flow). Parameter scale high defines the 20 ma output level in pulses/min. Parameters are calculated with the following formula: Example 1 Example 2 P = Q * Ksr P = parameter value [p/min] Q = measuring scale limit [l/min] Ksr = pulse constant of flow meter [p/l] Measuring scale = l/min (corresponds 4 20 ma) Pulse constant Ksr = 300 p/l Qmin = 0 p/min = scale low Qmax = 4.5 => P = 4.5 * 300 = 1350 p/min = scale high Measuring scale = l/min (corresponds 4 20 ma) Pulse constant Ksr = 1090 p/l Qmin = 0.5 => P = 0.5 * 1090 = 545 p/min = scale low Qmax = 1.5 => P = 1.5 * 1090 = 1635 p/min = scale high For ma output connection examples, see Appendixes at the back of this manual. 14

19 5.6 Alarms The alarm limits are set in main menu screens Hi, Lo and LoLo. See instructions in Main Menu Navigation on page 9 and Alarms on page Alarm Indications If an alarm occurs, an alarm text appears in the display. See the images and table below. Using this relay, it is possible to get wired alarm information to user s systems without serial communication. The relay is an isolated solid-state type with one closing contact. In the normal state, when there are no alarms, the relay is closed (Normally Closed). When one or more alarms are active, the relay is open. If the power of the device is turned off, the relay is open. To choose the alarms that influence the relay, follow the alarm grouping instructions in Alarm Groups on page 13. NOTE: The relay output connectors can be found on the DSP card in both models KLD-1 and KLD-8. See DSP and base card connections on page 21. CAUTION: Never connect a load more than 48 V and 100 ma over the alarm relays. 16
