The circular fire damper cartridge SC(V) has a fire resistance up to 1'. There are two types of circular fire damper cartridges: SC : especially used to close ventilation ducts passing through a construction element and SCV : is equipped with a finishing ventilation valve and is especially used for installation at the end of ventilation ducts passing through a construction element. 5 Installation The damper can be mounted with the axis in any position (0-360 ) The damper has to be installed in conformity with the test report Air movement may be from either direction The SC(V) must be accessible for inspection and maintenance Fire side: opposite to fusible link The circular fire damper cartridge SC(V) is always tested in standardized supporting constructions (rigid wall, floor as well as flexible wall) according to EN : 1999 table 3/4/5 'standarized supporting constructions'. The achieved results are valid for similar supporting constructions with a fire resistance and/or thickness and/or density equal to or bigger than the supporting construction used during the test. Examples of similar supporting constructions reinforced concrete wall min. 110mm + density 2 kg/m³ + fire resistance 1' reinforced concrete floor 1 mm + density 2 kg/m³ + fire resistance 1' - 2' flexible wall: metal stud + gypsum plasterboard: mm + fire resistance 1' masonry in hollow or full bricks, reinforced concrete, aerated concrete, light concrete,... concrete elements, pre-stressed concrete,... metal stud + Rf-boards, several layers of gypsum cardboard Operation SC The fire damper cartridge is kept in the open position by a fusible link. When the temperature in the duct rises above 72 C, the fusible link melts and releases the two semi circular blades. The damper is now closed. The two blocking hooks keep these blades in their safety position which prevents any smoke or flames from passing through Press the two blocking hooks carefully to unlock the blades. Click the fusible link into the holder to lock the blades. Unlock (close) the damper blades by pushing them towards each other. Carefully unlock the fusible link by pushing it sidewards. 5

7 Approvals and test reports All our circular fire damper cartridges are submitted to a number of tests by official test institutes. Reports of these tests form the basis for the approvals of our dampers.
