The lw prfile device package emplys a zer insertin frce base, a user-friendly addressing methdlgy and extended data and alarm features. Internal electrnics measures the vltage level frm the pht dide and translates this int a digital signal which is sent t the CIE at the next interrgatin. The detectr is calibrated using a digital cunt (equivalent t an analgue vltage) fr clean air and will flag an alarm when the cunt value exceeds 55 (the equivalent level at which smke particles are present abve a given threshld). Heat sensr peratin: A thermistr is used t measure temperature. The electrnic netwrk in the device generates a vltage level prprtinal t the air temperature adjacent. 6 Discvery analgue addressable detectrs Discvery is a pwerful, intelligent, digital cmmunicatin prtcl, develped specifically t cater fr mdern day applicatin requirements. Three different mdes f peratin are available: Nrmal, Read and Write. This enables an extensive exchange f infrmatin between the lp devices and the panel. NORMAL MODE: is identical t Anatec FA95 but with sme pwerful extensins fr mde selectin and detectr sensitivity drift warning. READ MODE: allws lp device infrmatin, such as installatin and servicing data, t be read by the cntrl panel. WRITE MODE: enables the cntrl panel t write infrmatin t the lp device, such as detectr respnse mde. Detectr ptins The detectr range includes ptical smke and temperature sensrs, a multi-sensr device with a prgrammable cmbinatin f ptical and heat detectin, and a carbn mnxide detectr. The integrity f lp wiring is vital fr data transmissin, where a shrt circuit between lp wires wuld be very serius. Hence it is necessary t have islating circuits psitined in the lp in rder t islate any sectin cntaining a shrt circuit, until the fault is rectified. The islatr detailed here is plarity sensitive and will nrmally switch ut the negative arm f the lp, when a shrt circuit is sensed. Nrmally the islatr allws current flw in bth directins. If the lp vltage falls beneath a preset threshld the islatr will switch pen t islate the incming and utging lines. The device will test the islated sectin regularly and will recnnect when the fault is cleared. Islating devices are prvided either as standalne prducts r integral within many interfaces, detectin r sunder units.
