Leave the external and main power until installation is complete. 2.1 Mounting 1. Open the outer and inner doors of the cabinet. 2. Remove an Annunciator Blank Plate from the inner door by unscrewing the two M3 Flanged Nuts and sliding the plate off the mounting studs. 3. Place the SCS-8A/ on the mounting studs in the empty annunciator slot, with the switches and annunciator facing the outer door. 4. Secure with two M3 Flanged Nuts. NOTE: DIP Switch 7 should always be. DIP Switch 8 controls the 120 Ohm End-of-Line Resistor and should be unless the SCS-8A is last on the line Set a unique address for the SCS-8A using the rotary address switches along the top of the module. 2. Set the switch group layout using the 8 DIP switches. See Table 1 Fan types of the SCS-8A/SCE- 8A for a description of the fan types and Table 2 - Switch group configurations. 3. Configure the operating mode of the module using VeriFire Tools. See Table 3 - Supplemental Documentation for further information on operating modes and programming instructions. 4. Create annunciator labels to match the switch group layout. See the Notifier website ( for label templates. 5. Cut out and insert the labels in the label slots on the back of the annunciator. Name Switch Group Fan Type Description Single Stop Type 2 Uses a single control module to force the fan off when the CBE is activated. Single Start Type 5 Uses a single control module to force the fan on when the CBE is activated. Stop Start Type 8 Uses two control modules to control the fan.
