Page 2 This gives an overview of how the day will run and who you will be playing. Please let me know if a team cannot take part so I can update the draw. 2. Guidelines for Accompanying Adults... Page 3 3. Attendance Register... Page 4 & 5 Please fill this in prior to arrival and hand in at the reception desk. 4. Directions and Entry into the Venue... Page 6 On the day, students will arrive with ü A name tag stating school, name and team position ü Book for quiet times ü Food & drink ü Accompanying adult - carries an additional copy of the students contact and other relevant details in event of emergency Schools check in as a group and hand over their pre-filled in attendance register. Note the emergency details requested on this. Please then proceed to your bag drop off and designated area. Orientate yourself and sit in the general area you will be playing. 3 Team Inter School Chess Competition Guidelines for accompanying adults Welcome! Thank you for supporting your school and the competition today. I wish your team/s the very best for the day and trust they will not only enjoy their games but have fun learning. To assist with smooth running today J Reminder, if players have any questions during their game they can put up their hand and an official will visit them J Players must stay seated and quiet until the end of the round, including adjudications J No adults are permitted in the playing area during the round and adjudications These competitions are about positive attitude. Here are some things adults can do to help set the right tone and ensure the success of the day. J Be a positive role model for their students J Insist that their students play within the rules and by the Fairplay Principles J Display self-control on the sideline. Let the students play and enjoy their games J Respect students efforts regardless of whether they have won or lost J Encourage respect for the opposition and officials J Accept the decisions of officials J Show appreciation to people who give their time so their students can take part J Always be positive.
