Towards 2050 Qinghe Station Workweek

Towards2050: Developing a Sino-Dutch Approach for Sustainable Urbanisation is a multi-annual programme that was initiated in July 2013 by the Creative Industry Fund NL. The goal of the initiative is to explore how the Dutch integrated planning approach can be adapted and implemented within the context of the rapid urbanisation of Chinese metropolitan regions. To this end, the programme organizes Sino-Dutch design projects, research, work weeks, seminars and exchanges. The programme has been made possible with contributions from the Creative Industry Fund NL, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, CSR Netherlands, City of Utrecht, VenhoevenCS architecture + urbanism, Fakton, TNO, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and the World Bank Beijing Office. The program is endorsed by Dutch Culture, the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects, the Dutch Embassy in Beijing and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Planning. This presentation shows the results of the Qinghe station workweek in Beijing in September 2014

Jing-Zhang Railway( 京张铁路 ) in History Jing-Zhang Railway is a part of Beijing-Baotou Railway Line(Coal transport). Baotou Hohhot Ulanqab Zhang Jiakou Beijing In 1960s, Bei Jing North Station became the starting station.but after the construction of Feng-Sha Railway and Northeast Railway Ring,North Station s function was weak. 22 trains from Beijing to Zhang Jiakou per day, only 3 start from Beijing North Station. Now people come to Beijing North Station for S2(suburban railway to YanQing). Beijing North Station Beijing West Station Beijing Station

New Times: Jing-Zhang High-speed Railway The promise of Beijing s bid for 2022 Winter Olympic Games.(starting operation in 2014) Zhang Jiakou to Beijing: one hour trip. Significant support to the integration of Beijing,Tianjin and Heibei. In long term make Datong connect to Beijing through high-speed railway. Great influence on Zhang Jiakou s development and function optimization of northwest of Beijing. Ulanqab Datong Zhang Jiakou Beijing

JingZhang railway line: Connection to the Beijing network

What does Qinghe station mean to Beijing? Look at in a big scale, what s the structure of Beijing? Qinghe station is just one part of the railway system

4 different terminals.new high speed railway system connecting to other cities in China Second stations are being planned to share the overload of the terminal station, they work as four different groups Qinghe station is not a final terminal, but a stop station and sharing the flows. But Qinghe station is not only itself, it is a part of the city s transport system, but how it work?

Second stations are being planned to share the overload of the terminal station They work as four different groups Qinghe station and Beijing North form one group
