2 What is Corridor Planning? Defining transportation deficiencies, identifying funding needs and how corridor improvements fit into larger system plans. Provide an overall vision, as well as guidance and coordination on future improvements. Provide an opportunity to engage local officials and other stakeholders. 2

14 Looking Ahead The overall planning and funding process is moving toward statewide performance-based planning and programming with performance metrics, measures and scoring for project selection. Corridor studies will continue to use a data-driven approach to help identify needs and guide project prioritization. TxDOT will continue to seek input and support from local communities and stakeholders as project priorities are considered. 14
