1 Facilities Management Overview QUT Draft Estate Master Plan QUT has developed a Draft Estate Master Plan for its main campuses (Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove) and the 17 distributed sites. The draft plan reflects a short- to mediumterm vision and a longer-term planning and development vision for QUT s facilities, landscape and infrastructure. QUT has released a draft plan for public consultation which can be accessed online at qut.to/estatemasterplan. All submissions received by 5 August 2018 will be considered when QUT prepares a final Estate Master Plan. The QUT Estate Master Plan will be a guiding document for strategic planning and design of the QUT Estate; it will not be a detailed development plan. Planning vision QUT s physical estate to have vibrant and sustainable campuses and distributed sites that support QUT in providing outstanding education and research for knowledge applicable to the real world. Distributed sites network key objectives Enable activities that cannot be done on-campus Have your say We will be hosting a range of information sessions at both campuses from 2 July to 5 August Share your feedback on the draft plan by 5 August via: an online survey focus groups open forums information stalls written submissions To find out more, or to complete the online survey on the draft plan head to qut.to/estatemasterplan. QUT owns, leases, or otherwise invests in distributed sites that are located at places other than the two main campuses. Consolidate the number of distributed sites as much as is feasible Brisbane CBD Provide meaningful engagement with industry and research partners Provide opportunities for outreach with the community and industry that enables growth of QUT s strengths whilst providing community benefit Provide strategic value for QUT s visibility and brand QUT s distributed site network in South East Queensland. 1

Make best use of the limited new development opportunities. Create memorable and vibrant on-campus experiences. Campus is a key part of the inner city fabric. Short- to medium-term initiatives The Yard Heritage Laboratory Intensive Buildings Riverside Entry The Yard Heritage Connect and renew the laneways and buildings into a broader network. Renew G & E blocks for formal and informal learning in lower levels and specialised space in higher levels. Laboratory Intensive Maximise building utilisation by co-locating specialist laboratories into Q and M blocks. Relocate laboratories from heritage listed buildings. Riverside Entry Enhance usability and the arrival experience onto campus. Create new spaces under an extension of the Lady Bowen Lawn. Gardens Point connecting the Yard Heritage.
