1 Heat Recovery from Hot Waste Air with the Fernett Waste Air Heat Exchanger Type Page 1 1 Hot waste air is collected in pipes and flows into the tube. Neither engines nor ventilation are necessary for this process. 2 To save space in the laundry the heat exchanger is installed on the roof, chimneys for waste air are usually already there. 3 The feeding pipes, entering from above into the supply the heat exchanger with cold spray water. 2 Heat Recovery from Hot Waste Air with the Page The spray water flows freely on the bottom of the tube towards the outlet. From there it flows into the Fercher VESUV waste water heat exchanger. The hot spray water from the flows into the waste water tub inside the VESUV heat exchanger. The hot waste water is equally distributed to the absorber-plates. 7 8 The spray water flows down on the absorbers of the VESUV heat exchanger and heats the fresh water inside the absorber pipes. The spray water cooled down by the VESUV heat exchanger is collected in a tub. From there a waste water pump gets the spray water again up into the. ENERGY SOLUTIONS LLC

3 Description of Operation: Page 3 The hot waste air gets into the heat exchanger through the inlet (see left pipe image 1 and 3) On it's way through the tube (see image 2, 3 and 4) the hot waste air is washed out by the spray water (see image 5). The heat from hot air is partially transfered to the spray water. The spray water flows freely on the bottom of the tube, which is slightly inclined towards the outlet. From there it flows into the Fercher VESUV waste water heat exchanger (see image 7). The spray water cooled down by the VESUV heat exchanger is collected in a tub (see image 8). From there a pump gets the spray water again up into the, where it is sprayed out again. The polluted water does no harm to the functionability of the heat exchanger. Construction: The Fercher Wasteair Heatexchanger Type is a welded and screwed construction made of stainless steel. The heatexchanger can be inspected easily because of the removeable covers.
