1 Green Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfecting: A Checklist for Early Care and Edcation This Green Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfecting Toolkit for Early Care and Edcation was developed by the University of California, San Francisco School of Nrsing s Institte for Health & Aging, University of California, Berkeley s Center for Environmental Research and Children's Health, and Informed Green Soltions, with spport from the California Department of Pesticide Reglation.

2 Green Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfecting: A Checklist for Early Care and Edcation Green Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfecting Checklist This Green Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfecting Checklist (GCC) provides simple, easy-to-se gidelines that will help yo to: ➊ adopt policies in yor ECE program that will help yo to pt into practice effective cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting tools prodcts procedres that are least harmfl to hman health and the environment. ➋ se effective cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting methods that keep early care and edcation (ECE) environments clean and safe. Having all the pieces of an effective green cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting program in place can seem like a difficlt task. The following checklist is designed to help yo see what pieces yor program crrently has in place and what yo need to add as yo are able. Answer the qestions and then yo can identify the priorities that need to be addressed. After yo have made the most important changes, move on to the other items on the list. Definitions: If yo do not nderstand a term or acronym sed in the checklist, please refer to the glossary in the back of the Green Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfection Toolkit Crriclm booklet. ➌ protect yong children and staff from infectios diseases and allergens. 1
