10 Option Variable Over Water Flow Syste In the case of the ultiple constant speed chillers such as a district cooling syste plant and a large capacity syste, the cooling deand ay be little depending on the season or tie of. In such a case, ultiple chiller units which can expense the cooling deand or ore should be operated to secure the supplying chilled water flow rate. Therefore, each chiller is operated in the low load area in which the CO is low. In addition, the nuber of starting coolingand chilled water pups is increased and the CO of the whole chiller syste decreases. For the variable over water flow syste, the chiller and water pup are designed to have an availability of chilled water flow rate ore than the rated value. This design suppresses the nuber of starting chiller auxiliaries including chiller and water pup and secures the cooling water flow rate. Moreover, by suppressing the nuber of starting chillers, the load of each chiller is increased and it is capable of operating the chillers at the load point in which the CO is relatively high. Then, the CO of the whole syste is iproved.figure 1and show the operating siulation of this syste. If the variable over water flow syste is not adopted, it is required to start three chillers and those auxiliaries to secure 1,1 3 /h chilled water flow rate. (Figure 1) Accopanying with the increase of the chilled water flow rate, each chiller is started one by one and the CO of the whole syste decreases at each tie. (Figure ) This is caused because each chiller ust be operated at low load (cooling deand / the nuber of chiller units).when the variable over water flow syste is adopted, it is capable of securing 1,1 3 /h chilled water flow rate by starting only one over flow control chiller.
