In this section, you can find which controller type should be used for what type of heating. 4 3 Control variants Two-point control The two-point control is a very simple control which always fluctuates between the upper and lower hysteresis point. It is not suitable for sluggish heating/cooling systems. It is frequently used for ventilator convectors. The actuator is controlled by a 1-bit telegram Page 4 of 10

5 Constant PI control Constant PI control is a precise control which maintains a very constant room temperature. It is suitable for rapid heating and cooling systems. The actuator is controlled by a 8-bit telegram. The valve includes values between 0-100%. Page 5 of

6 Pulse-width modulation Pulse-width modulation is suitable for sluggish heating and cooling systems. It is frequently used to control floor heating. The actuator is controlled by a 1-bit telegram. The calculated variable (green line) is calculated based on a cycle of 15 minutes. For example, a variable of 50% is realised with a switch-on period of 7.5 minutes in each cycle. The valves in the heating circuit distributor of the floor heating are moved over wax expanding elements. The 6-channel heating actuator is used for this purpose. 8 An additional fast heating system is used to shorten the heat-up phase. The sluggish floor heating is the basic stage. The additional stage is realised by radiators which make energy available quickly. Fan coil The ventilator convector is controlled via the fan coil actuator. There are many different variants for this purpose. They range from a two-pipe to four-pipe system to systems with automatic heating/cooling switch-over or centralised switch-over and the use of between 1-6 fan speeds. As part of this process, the controller (push button sensor) provides the 8-bit value for heating and cooling.
