Highway 59, Naperville (Hwy 59 and Montgomery Rd/83 rd St) Speaker: Topic: Chris Carey Night Light, Inc. Landscape Lighting 2006 Officers President Mary Wright Vice President Linda Thompson Secretary JoAnn Monge Treasurer Tom Campbell Past President Eleanor Holt Upcoming Events Welcome From the President Spring is finally here, we can begin to get outside and do some cleaning up and preparing for our spring planting. Don't forget as you're outside to think about what you might be able to dig up and donate for our member plant sale. If you can't dig it up yourself and/or need help, let us know. We have some great volunteers to help you. I hope those of you who can come help out at the Riverwalk cleanup later this month. It's amazing to see what we get done in a short period of time. Last year, despite the weather, our club was the only group outdoors - the rest canceled. Please come out and help beautify our area of the Riverwalk. This month at our regular meeting we can learn about lighting our landscape it's something that I've thought about doing. Linda Thompson is doing a great job picking speakers who are of interest to many (myself included!). Hope to see you on April 3! Happy planning and planting until then! Mary T. Wright President Page 4 Announcements

3 NCG Newsletter 3 Elm trees on the parkway. They wish to monitor the success of these trees. The Prairie View Montessori School (at Butterfield and Farnsworth) is looking for a volunteer for the second week of June. They want someone to help children ages 3 to 6 to plant a bed. The summer picnic will be July 15 at Seager Park. The garden walk in the morning will concentrate on fruit, vegetable, and herb gardens. Betty Earl is setting up a field trip for June 17 or 24. Patti enjoys perennials and containers and has graciously volunteered to be the club photographer! Larry and Sima Petri joined in February. They are more interested in flowers but enjoy all types of gardening. Sharon Kragh, Bea McGovern, and John and Suzie Steinmetz found the club in March. Sharon enjoy flowers and garden design. She already has a pond in her yard! Bea loves hostas all you hosta collectors take note. John and Suzie specialize in raised bed vegetable gardening, and John has taught classes at COD.
