The average daily temperature hovers around 84 F/27 C. November to March is warmer and more humid. Immigration Visitors to Indonesia must hold a passport valid for at least six months upon arrival and proof of onward passage. Visa requirements are determined by Nationality, please consult with local Indonesian consulates in respective countries. Tropical rain falls in short bursts, interspersed with periods of bright sunshine. The average daily temperature is a constant 92 F/32 C. 9 ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES Our Responsibilities Soori Bali follows a dedicated environmental and social sustainability policy that cultivates eco-friendly concepts through environmentally sustainable design principles. Water Conservation Demand reduction for water is achieved through the use of water-efficient appliances in bathrooms and kitchens. Variable-speed drive pumps are installed to conserve energy while booster pumps enable uniform water pressure throughout the resort. Wastewater is treated to a standard suitable for the irrigation of natural vegetation and landscaped areas throughout the resort. Energy consumption is kept to a minimum Some of Soori Bali s structures, particularly its mountain-view villas, were orientated in a way to facilitate the passing of filtered natural light and fresh rice field breezes into the buildings while minimizing heat gain during the daytime. Natural Environment Relatively severe coastal conditions subsist during certain periods of the year. To put up with these weather conditions, indigenous local plants and hardier coastal species such as Beach Morning Glory, Coconut Palm, Pandan and the Pong Pong trees were newly planted. These plants need less long-term maintenance and are able to survive on a fluctuating supply of water. Various herbs and vegetables are grown and harvested in an organic garden at the back area of the kitchen which functions to help maintain the terrace as well as supplying the spa and kitchen with the freshest produce available. EC3 Global EarthCheck Designed and constructed with environmental sustainability in mind, Soori Bali has achieved the EC3 Global EarthCheck s Building, Planning and Design Standard certification, making it one of the first resorts in Bali to gain such recognition. Soori Bali is EarthCheck Gold certified and follows a dedicated environmental and social sustainability policy that will create a sense of balance for guests enjoying their stay in environmentally sustainable luxury. At the beachfront villas, overhanging roof eaves, roof screen systems and deep ledges were also employed to reduce heat from direct sunlight. Through building codes that comply with energy efficiency needs, these are aimed at ensuring walls and windows are shaded and cool. Guests may opt for the use of air conditioning or have fresh and natural airflow in their rooms and villas. Locally sourced all building materials Local indigenous materials such as the sandstones of Paras Kelating and Paras Kerobokan, as well as natural stones of Batu Chandi and Batu Kali, were used in the construction of the resort as they naturally respond to the local climate as well as to minimize transportation costs. Cool colours in both the paint and stone selections are further used to promote the sense of tranquility and space, in addition to reducing heat gain.
