1 IMPACT REPORT 2017 OUR MISSION Indigenous Re-Generation is a 501c3 that exists to inspire Native Communities on re-generative living concepts, through food cultivation, medicinal farming, culture and eco-village education programs, to achieve re-indigenization and true Tribal sovereignty. OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE We believe that we come from the land and so we can get back to the land. We borrow from the past to inspire the future...

3 The OPPOR TUNITY Mata'Yuum - A partnership with the San Pasqual Indian Reservation This year Indigenous Regeneration had the opportunity to partner with the San Pasqual Tribe and their Education Department on a 6-acre Educational Community Garden located on Paradise Mountain in Valley Center California. OUR 2017 PARTNERS

4 GOA L 1 CREATE A MATA'YUUM! (GATHERING SPACE) Clear 6 acres of invasive weeds, establish walking trails and working roads, create parking, develop future installation zones, work directly with the Education Department to create a community gathering space catering to Kumeyaay youth from San Pasqual. BEFORE When IRG started, cars could not drive onto the property.. AFTER LAND CLEARED 6 acres 12 types of invasive species removed from 6 acres 50 avocado TREES PRUNED

5 "The first habitat restoration efforts on the property, included the removal of major shrubs, weeds, dead trees and invasive grasses." IRG 2017 Land restoration preparation- for a 3 year native planting contract through the Natural Resources Conservation Services a division of USDA. In partnership with the San Pasqual Environmental Department, we secured funding for 3300 native plants to restore this land back to it's native state!!!

6 GOA L 2 WOOD FIRED PIZZA OVEN Build a wood fired pizza oven, create a community eating and gathering space, hold a grand opening for the San Pasqual Tribe to engage the community and continuation of efforts to clean up the property. 7 The FIRST GATHERING The intertribal event had 250 participants and served 180 wood fired, organic pizzas with vegetables from our partners at a neighboring farm. 8 GO A L 3 OFF-GRID SOLAR WELL RESTORATION In partnership with NRCS, the San Pasqual Environmental, Public Works and Education Department, repair of the well pump, installation of solar panels and pump, installation of a water tank and irrigation main lines. 11 GO A L 6 FOOD FOREST INSTALLATION Removal of invasive weed species throughout the food forest hillside Extermination of destructive gopher holes, which were a safety hazard and threat to new plantings Installed four rows of irrigation systems spanning the width of the 2.5 acre food forest area Planted 30 new varieties of fruit trees with gopher baskets and natural biochar fertilizer on each tree 2.5 ACRES CLEARED, IRRIGATED AND PLANTED 30 varieties of fruit trees were planted THANK YOU SPR FIRE DEPT. 12 GO A L 7 HELLYA-ENYA 7 GENERATIONS & YOUNG-IPAI GARDEN DESIGNED BY LOCAL FAMERS - TERRA MADRE GARDENS THE AREA BEFORE CLEARING INVASIVE WEEDS AND BRINGING IN COMPOST JESSICA, FARMER, DESIGNER, OWNER - TERRA MADRE GARDENS WE PLANTED- Cauliflower, broccoli, kale, chard, collards, rosemary, four types of lettuce, and cabbage. We estimate the amount of food planted to produce about 300 pounds of food this season THE HELLYA-ENYA GARDEN WAS CREATED WITH AND FOR THE SAN PASQUAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT'S YOUNG-IPAI GARDEN CLUB. STUDENTS WILL BE LEARNING HOW TO FARM AND HOW TO MOVE PRODUCTS TO MARKET
