Observations from the Clues: 1. The verse does not present enough clue details to identify the dig location. 2. There must be clues in the image that indicate a location with some direction from the verse. Image clues: Several indicators help identify the Japanese Tea Garden as a likely dig location. 1. Hands indicate to fold the image at these points, which results in an Asian clue likely Japanese image. Note: When the image is folded, much of the other distractions are removed, leaving the table, flower, clock and the figure. 2. Compelling clue: Table stand displays a Teapot clue (note this is not symmetrical, handle on left and spout on right) which indicates the Tea Garden: 3. Compelling clue: Woman s head matches the Drum Bridge Shape and the part of her hair matches the waterline: and
4. Woman s nose points (like a finger) to the jewel location below the bridge: 5. A search of this area around the bridge proved to be a bad location for the casque. The area around the pond is very wet and muddy and the location is very exposed to park employees. 6. If the clue for Giant Step is the Drum Step Bridge, then search should be somewhere in the Tea Garden. 7. From the verse In casques direction is an object of Twain s attention If the object of Twain s attention is the Cathedral in Milan, then the Direction of the casque should be East, which suggests to head East of the Giant Step Bridge. Unfortunately, the fence line at the Tea Garden has been altered over the years.
Additional clues from the Verse: At stone wall's door The air smells sweet - The journey starts at the top of Huntington Falls in GGP, near Strawberry Hill, where the Mouth of the Falls is the Stone Wall s Door, and the Strawberry Hill air is sweet. Not far away High posts are three Sutro Tower is visible at the top of the falls Education and Justice For all to see UCSF and XXX are visible from the top of the falls Sounds from the sky Echos from the Waterfall makes it seem the sounds are coming from the sky Near ace is high The TransAmerica building is also visable from the top of the falls Running north, but first across From the top of the falls, you must first cross the bridge to the path to travel North In jewel's direction Is an object Of Twain's attention The jewels direction is EAST towards the Cathedral in Milan No other object could chain your whole attention
1. Wherever you stand in Milan or within seven miles of Milan, it is visible and when it is visible, no other object can chain your whole attention. Leave your eyes unfettered by your will but a single instant and they will surely turn to seek it. It is the first thing you look for when you rise in the morning, and the last your lingering. Giant pole 2. Along the path from Hunnington Falls to the Tea Garden is the long handrail pole with the rose stem curl Giant Step 3. From the Giant Pole, the path takes you to the Tea Garden and the Giant Stepping Bridge To the place The casque is kept.
There are a limited number of likely spots to search in the Tea Garden. This 1. The First Search of the area around the Drum Bridge confirmed this area is not a likely spot for the casque. The pond is cement lined and cracks results in the dirt around the pond to be very muddy. 2. The Second Search of the area along the fence line East of the Bridge was a difficult to find an effective spot to explore. a. The fence areas have been modified since b. The section near the entrance across the pond from the bridge has a cement foundation added in the last 20 yrs and tree roots and irrigation lines are noted, as well as the pond. It s likely a lot of digging has occurred around this spot in the maintenance of the fence and front gate. Exploring this area would likely be a big effort and I d recommend to have the Tea Garden clues confirmed (possibly by JJP) before pursuing it. c. The fence area adjacent to the DeYoung has been replaced in the last yrs and the fence line has been moved about 6 feet into the garden property. The corner of this fence line that existed in 1981 has likely been trenched and excavated back when the new DeYoung work was done. If the casque was buried near the east corner, it s probably lost forever.
