8 Personal Security Pager Instructions for use EN Charge rack and storage rack There are two types of rack available: storage rack and charge rack. The system administrator can set a rack to charge or storage. Whilst the PS-Pager is in the storage rack, it is absent from the system and is not available for any calls. The user name shows on the top display and the user name and the address shows on the front display. If a message is received whilst the PS-Pager is in the storage rack, it will give two attention bleeps when it is removed from the rack. The messages are shown in the memory stack. The PS-Pager is charged when it is in the storage rack. Whilst the PS-Pager is in the charge rack, it is present in the system and responds to all calls. 2.3 Read and delete messages Standby When the PS-Pager is at Stand-by mode, the display shows either the last message or the user information View a message The last ten messages sent to the PS-Pager are stored in the memory. The PS-Pager will not then give an audible bleep. 3.2 Reset the alarm Stop the alarm sound Push the reset button to stop the audible alarm bleep. The alarm status will stay valid and new received locations will be sent to the central. The PS-Pager gives an audible attention bleep every minute and a LED flash to remind the user that the alarm status is still active. To clear the alarm the user has 2 options: reset by the central remote reset Reset by the central The central sends a call to the PS-Pager to alert the user to reset the alarm. When the alarm is activated, the PS-Pager gives these bleeps and LED signals as follows: The alarm 1 sent to the central. The alarm 2 sent to the central. You can change alarm 1 to alarm 2, and alarm 2 to alarm1.

10 Personal Security Pager Instructions for use EN 10 4 Signals and call types 4.1 Attention signals Attention bleep - one bleep The PS-Pagers gives a bleep, shows "Waiting for central..." in the display and sends a handshake call to the central under these conditions: The PS-Pager goes from off to on and on to off. The PS-Pager put into the storage rack. The PS-Pager is removed from the storage rack. If a message came in while the PS-Pager was in the rack, an extra bleep is heard. An attention bleep only sounds under these conditions: The user deletes a message from the message list. The user passes certain location beacons. The PS-Pager is back in range of the system. The attention bleep pattern is as follows: Out of range detection - two bleeps The out of range signal tells the user that the PS-Pager is out of range of the system transmitters. The out of range signal is two short bleeps followed by a silence. The PS- Pager repeats the signal for 68 seconds, until the PS- Pager is back in range or the user pushes the reset button. 30 Minutes after the first bleep pattern, the PS- Pager gives a shutdown bleep and turns off. The out of range bleep pattern is as follows: User action: Return the PS-Pager into the range. An attention bleep will sound when it is back in range Low battery - three bleeps Indicates the PS-Pager has a low battery. Refer to Recharge the battery. The low battery bleep pattern is as follows: Central not responding - continuous bleep pattern The central must acknowledge a handshake call. If the central does not acknowledge the handshake call, after 30 seconds the PS-Pager starts a continuous bleep pattern and shows "Central not responding" on the display. If the PS-Pager has the message Central not responding in the display do as follows: the PS-Pager goes from OFF to ON, press the reset button. The PS-Pager goes to OFF. Report the action to the system administrator the PS-Pager goes from ON to OFF, the mobile can not be turned off. Report the action to the system administrator the PS-Pager is put into a rack, remove the PS-Pager from the rack and put back in. Report the action to the system administrator the PS-Pager is removed from the rack, put the PSpager back in the rack. Report the action to the system administrator Error - four bleeps The PS-Pager gives indication that there is an internal error. Put the PS-Pager back in the rack. If it still does not function, report to the system administrator. The error bleep pattern is as follows: Shutdown bleep - one long bleep If the PS-Pager is out of range for 30 minutes or if it has a low battery, the shut down bleep sounds. Before the PS-Pager switches off, it sends a last call to the central, gives the shutdown bleep and then turns off. The shutdown bleep also sounds when the PS-Pager is turned off. The shut down bleep pattern is as follows:

11 Personal Security Pager Instructions for use EN Special location bleep When a special location beacon is passed, the PS-Pager give a bleep pattern. This bleep pattern can be one of the following: Attention bleep. Location signal. Bleep until reset. Press the reset button on the PS-Pager. Location signal. Bleep until put in rack. Place the PS- Pager in a storage rack. Special location attention signal Special location signal. 4.2 Receiving call signals The PS-Pager can make 7 different bleep patterns in normal and cricketed bleeps. The 7 normal bleep patterns are used to produce individual calls; group calls always produce cricketed tones. The LED flashes for a longer time than the bleep pattern sounds. If the vibrator is set, it will give a signal in the same pattern as the bleep pattern. The LED flashes for another 8 seconds Individual calls The central can always make an individual call to a PS- Pager. If the PS-Pager is in the storage rack then it sends an absent signal to the central Group calls A group call always has a cricketed bleep. PS-Pagers that are in a storage rack will not respond and do not send an absent indication to the central. Examples of groups are rescue teams and cardiac arrest teams All call If enabled by the installer the central can send a call to all the compatible receivers in the system. The all call address is the same for all PS-Pagers in the system and all will respond Serial group calls A serial group call addresses PS-Pagers one-by-one. With a serial group call absent conversions are possible Telemetry calls If enabled by the installer the user can be sent up-todate information, e.g. process control and temperature. When the telemetry function is enabled, a * in front of the message when in the memory, shows that the message is a telemetry call. A telemetry call is always the first message in the list and will be overwritten when a new telemerty calls is received. 0/8 1/9 2/A 3/B 4/C 5/D 6/E 7/F Note If the PS-Pager receives a call when it is in silent mode, it will always give a vibration. Silent call 4 seconds Bleep patterns 0-6 = normal patterns Bleep patterns 8 - E = cricketed patterns Speech calls If enabled by the installer the PS-Pager can receive spoken messages. The speech message ends when the speech time is exceeded or when the user presses the reset button. The speech call resumes if the user presses the reset button again within 8 seconds.
