3 LON LRL 8101/10 Light Sensor Product details The LRL 8101 is a light for the automatic control of lighting systems. It can be used in combination with various types of Philips Lighting Control Systems such as HELIO and TRIOS. The is intended for indoor use in an office environment and comes with a mounting ring for recessed mounting and a mounting plate for surface mounting. The unit is optimized for ceiling mounting. The has an asymetrical opening angle to reduce sensitivity towards the window. An eye sensitivity centring filter and a special light filter are incorporated in the to ensure its reliability. The measured area can be adapted to specific application conditions (e.g. avoid direct incoming day light) by mounting the unit in the suitable position. The relevant position marks are indicated on mounting ring and mounting plate. The can be attached in four 90 shifted positions to the mounting materials. The housing material is Polycarbonate, white (RAL 9010). It contains the element and electronic circuitry and need not be disassembled during installation or commissioning. The light is equipped with a high-quality photo diode and electronic circuitry, which ensure an accurate and stable conversion of light levels into electrical signals. The sensitivity can be set with a 20 turn trim potentiometer. Difference between minimum and maximum sensitivity is more than a factor 100. The is factory adjusted to maintain 600 lux when used with TRIOS LRC 1020 and mounted approximately 2 m above the working plane and with an average reflection factor in the room of 30%. A small red light emitting diode (LED) is mounted on the unit to facilitate the adjustment in daylight switching applications. The LED reaches its maximum brightness at an output voltage of 4 Volts (TRIOS switch-on level). The Light is powered from the corresponding controller and does not require an external power supply unit. Electrical connections are made via a standard modular socket ("Telejack") using a separate cable (not supplied with the unit). The "Telejack" entry is behind a hinged cover at the side of the unit. A cable duct with clamps is provided at the rear side of the, allowing entry of standard flat oval cable from any directions when the unit is surface mounted. Recessed mounting in ceiling systems is possible without removing any ceiling parts, provided that positions are pre-wired. The minimum recess clearance is a mere 60 mm. The LRL 8101 belongs to a series of s with identical construction and appearance. It can be used in combination with various types of Philips Lighting Control Systems such as IFS, HELIO, TRIOS, MCS, SCENIO and DFS. The receiver is intended for indoor use in an office environment and comes with a mounting ring for recessed mounting and a mounting plate for surface mounting. The unit is optimized for ceiling mounting. The pattern of sensitivity is circular. The opening angle is 130 degrees. The receiver contains a red light emitting diode (LED), indicating the reception of infrared signals. More infrared receivers can be connected in parallel in order to cover large or odd shaped rooms.
