7 DP FLOW MONITOR 13 OPACITY LIGHTHAWK 560ES Current models of the LH560 are being quality assured against a more stringent regulation than that of ASTM D which is required per Performance Specification 1, in order to satisfy the requirements of ASTM D Annex 1. They are all 560ES (extra sensitive) **Annex 1 pertains to monitors with limits of < 10% Limits. **Not currently required. 14 7

8 OPACITY FIRMWARE UPDATES There are several different processors used in the LightHawk 560 opacity monitor. They typically work seamlessly together and, since inception, enhancements have been added to the five major sections of the processor firmware. Most versions are deemed backwardscompatible in that they can be used with previous versions. 11 ADC FAULT ISSUES SYMPTOMS: COMPLETE LOSS OF SIGNAL VOLTAGE IRRATIC READINGS. ADC FAULTS VERY INTERMITTANT NOT COMMON ONLY SEEN IN APPROX 8% OF MONITORS CAUSED BY LOOSE CONNECTION FOR DETECTOR 21 ADC FAULT ISSUES 22 11

ALWAYS GOOD TO MONITOR TEST POINTS ON TIE TO EVALUATE SIGNAL BEFORE AND AFTER TRANSDUCER CHANGES TO ESTABLISH ROOT OF ISSUE CH1 on TP21 set to 10mV/div & 2 ms/div Ext. Trigger on TP34 AMPLITUDE FACTOR CAN BE SET TO 0.5 This lowers the amount of signal the monitor needs to achieve in order to be satisfied during each integration period

17 NEW TECHNOLOGY PUMPS Newer pumps are working well, however, the NOx pumps require shims. When rebuilding these pumps, you must reuse the existing shims. Read the chart on the side of the pump to determine what shims were used to get the most vacuum out of the pump.
