6 PRESIDENTS NOTES It is fall again, and the weather feels like a fall day. We had an almost 50 degree drop in temperature from yesterday to today. Oh well, it s Nebraska. I want to encourage each of to get registered for our October Class with Tommy Minick on Safe Scoping. This will be a hands on learning and information that will be valuable to each of us. A real learn and take home and make some money type class. We already have some non-members registered and Tommy would prefer only 25 in the class but we have to stop registration at 30. Don t get left out of this learning experience. Also remember that this meeting is election of president and Vice-President for the next 2 years. Our New Website is up and running and creating some hits. The website address is nebraska-locksmith.com/. We have lost a valuable friend and mentor in Ron Rowedder, who was also a personal friend to me. We grieve with you Carol. Ron was a long time member of NLA and was the Locksmith in Kearney, NE. I have always said that Ron forgot more about locksmithing that I will ever know. Other members of our association have lost family members this last month. Bob Warnes lost his wife, Val, very suddenly and Gene Hansen lost his father after a lengthy illness. We extend our personal condolences as well as the sympathy of all of the Nebraska Locksmith Association. Bernard, Velma, Gene & Kathy are all planning to attend MINK in Kansas City next week. We hope to see many of you there. Your President, Bernard Dobesh NLA MEETING MINUTES The July 26th meeting of NLA was called to order by President Bernard Dobesh at the White House Inn in Norfolk, NE. at 8:00. The minutes were read and approved as read. The treasurer report was given by Tony Delgado. As of this meeting we have $7, The report was voted on and approved. Gene Hansen gave a report on a new web site that he had working on. The address is [nebraska-locksmith.com]. The web site could be self sustaining, at this point it has cost NLA nothing. Bernard Dobesh & Gene Hansen have taken care of it. It was voted on by all present to check it out and have Gene go with it. ID# s for members was discussed, motion was made to use ID# s motion carried. October meeting has been moved to Kearney, NE It will be a safe class. Elmer Howard announced that he is back doing locksmithing. Be sure to thank the suppliers for all the door prizes. Motion was made to adjourn, motion carried. Minutes were read and approved as read. There was no treasurer report as James Hoffman was not present. A class at MINK sponsored by the Nebraska Chapter of ALOA was discussed.
