2 Resolution 1 (Tokyo 1) ISO/TC 224 requests ISO/TC 224 secretariat to coordinate the preparation of four harmonized power point presentations (general, ISO 24510, ISO and ISO 24512) and to prepare an updated version of the brochure. The TC secretariat is also requested to consider setting up a public website devoted to promotion and communication of ISO/TC 224 Standards and including available tools. Resolution 2 (Tokyo 2) ISO/TC 224 encourages TC members to undertake actions of promotion of the ISO Standards: - by participating to national or regional or international events dealing with water services; - by organizing specific events with volunteer countries; - by informing the TC secretariat of any interesting event for promoting the ISO Standards; - by publication of articles; - by specific promotion actions toward international and regional institutions and multilateral organizations; - by promoting the standards to training bodies; - by testing the ISO Standards at national or regional level. ISO/TC 224 requests TC members to inform the TC secretariat of any action of promotion undertaken and to report back on the outputs of such actions. Resolution 3 (Tokyo 3) ISO/ TC 224 encourages the development of regional initiatives for promoting and testing the ISO Standards such as the project initiated by France and Morocco in Africa. Such initiatives should involve all responsible bodies (local and/or central government, regulatory entities), service providers, relevant NGOs and users associations and their regional associations. Local financial support would be considered as a good criterion for success. Regional initiatives for developing countries should take into account the methodology and the road map proposed in the Rabat and Kampala workshops. Resolution 4 (Tokyo 4) ISO/TC 224 encourages developed countries (including local governments), international and regional institutions and multilateral organizations to support regional initiatives for promoting and testing of the standards

3 Resolution 5 (Tokyo 5) ISO/TC 224 recommends to each regional coordinator to report back regularly on the outputs of regional projects to ISO/TC 224 secretariat and to the developing countries ad hoc group convenor, and suggests the elaboration, by 2011, of: - a regional guide for the application of ISO Standards 24510, and 24512; - proposals for improvement of ISO Standards 24510, and 24512, within the frame of a possible review of those standards. Resolution 6 (Tokyo 6) ISO TC 224 supports the following proposal: For consideration in the framework of the Preliminary work item "Guide for the application of ISO Standards 24510, and to developing and emerging countries, between now and 2011, the developing countries ad hoc group convenor will: - share the methodology for the elaboration of the test; - collect and disseminate, in liaison with the ISO TC 224 secretariat, information regarding the various regional test initiatives. Resolution 7 (Tokyo 7) ISO/TC 224 agrees to add the following preliminary work item in the TC work programme Examples of implementation of ISO 24510, and Standards. This PWI is allocated to a new working group (WG 5) Examples of implementation of ISO 24510, and Standards. Argentina will provide the Secretariat and Convenorship. Regarding composition, if possible, one representative of each region so as to coordinate the input of implementations. The document prepared by this WG will be presented as a NWIP (ISO/TR) to be considered on next ISO/TC 224 Plenary Meeting in P members agreeing to participate to the WG: Argentina, Canada, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Israel, Spain, Malaysia, Kenya. Resolution 8 (Tokyo 8) ISO/TC 224 thanks Argentina for its proposal regarding organization of workshops in Latin America for promoting ISO series and invites Argentina to report back to the TC secretariat

4 Resolution 9 (Tokyo 9) ISO/TC 224 agrees to add the following preliminary work item in the TC work programme Guidelines for physical asset management of water supply and wastewater systems. This PWI is allocated to a new working group asset management (WG 6) under the convenor ship of Horst Schlicht from Germany. Vice-convenorships are allocated to Mr Rohrhofer (Austria) and Mr Ellison (Canada), the secretariat of the WG will be held by DIN. The document prepared by this WG will be considered by the TC in 2011 for further development. The scope of the PWI is as follows: These guideline(s) address the issues of physical asset management relevant to water supply and waste water systems. It will provide an overview of the approaches to management of the assets of a system. It will identify the instruments of asset management for water supply and wastewater systems. It will provide a common terminology for the principles of asset management in the context of water supply and wastewater services. Target date for availability and presentation to the TC as a new work item proposal: 2011 P members agreeing to participate to the WG: Austria, Canada, Germany, Korea, Portugal, France, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa. Adopted by all delegations except one. Resolution 10 (Tokyo 10) ISO / TC224 agrees to add the following preliminary work item in TC work programme: Crisis management of water utilities. This PWI is allocated to a new working group (WG 7) Crisis management of water utilities under the co-convenorship of Jacobo Sack from Israel and Thomas Zenz from Germany, the secretariat being held by SII. The document prepared by this WG will be presented as a new NWIP to be considered at the next ISO /TC 224 plenary meeting in WG 7 Crisis management of water utilities is encouraged to establish close cooperation with CEN TC 164/WG 15 Security of drinking water supply and possibly CEN/TC 165/WG 22 Drainage systems outside buildings. The countries agreeing to participate in this PWI are: Austria, Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Spain, Portugal, UK. This decision was taken by simple majority (Approved by 13 members;against: 1 member;abstention: 6 members)

5 Resolution 11 (Tokyo 11) ISO/TC 224 thanks the working groups WG 1, WG 2, WG 3 and WG 4 for the work and efforts done within the five last years and disbands the working groups WG 2, WG 3 and WG 4. WG 1 Terminology is maintained under the convenorship of D. Olivier. Resolution 12 (Tokyo 12) ISO/TC 224 resolves to maintain the coordination group with all WG convenors (from previous WGs and new WGs). During the next three-year period (2008 to 2011), the CG will meet once a year, if necessary, for considering any technical requests on the standards. Resolution 13 (Tokyo 13) The TC decides to meet again in 2O11 for considering the results of the systematic review on ISO 24510, ISO and ISO and for considering proposals from the working groups. P members wishing to host the next TC meeting are invited to contact the TC secretariat beginning of Resolution 14 (Tokyo 14) The TC thanks the Japanese delegation for the warm welcome and the perfect organization of the meeting. Resolution 15 (Tokyo 15) ISO/TC 224 resolves to thank France for the work done in guiding and supporting the TC during the development of the Standards and wishes to express a special vote of thanks and acknowledgement of the extraordinary work done by Laurence Thomas in providing assistance to the convenors of the working groups without whose dedication, cheerfulness and knowledge, the work would not have been achieved
