2 Resolutions of the 45 th plenary meeting of ISO/TC 211 Wellington, New Zealand, Resolution 844 Convenor for Working Group 7 ISO/TC 211 appreciates and accepts the nomination by the National Body of Canada of Dr. Jean Brodeur as convenor of Working Group 7 and appoints him to that position. Acclamation Resolution 845 Convenor for the Advisory Group on Outreach ISO/TC 211 appreciates and accepts the nomination by the National Body of Sweden of Ms. Lena Bengtsson as convenor for the Advisory Group on Outreach and appoints her to that position. Acclamation Resolution 846 Project leader of Geographic information -- Conformance and testing ISO/TC 211 appreciates and accepts the offer from the National Body of China of Dr. Jinsongdi Yu as project leader for the revision of ISO Geographic information -- Conformance and testing. Acclamation Resolution 847 Coordinator to initiate Stage 0 project for the revision of ISO 19152:2012, Geographic information Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) ISO/TC 211 appreciates and accepts the nomination by the National Body of Australia of Mr. Chris Body as coordinator and appoint him to that position. 3 Resolution 848 Participation to the 7 th FIG LADM Workshop in Zagreb, Croatia ISO/TC 211 is invited to participate in the 7 th FIG LADM Workshop in Zagreb, April ISO/TC 211 nominates the chair of ISO/TC 211, Ms. Christina Wasström, and Mr. Olaf Østensen from National Body of Norway and also encourages the members to participate to the workshop. The comments of systematic review ISO will be available to the workshop. Resolution 849 Registration of NP/TR Geographic Information -- The Application of Ubiquitous Public Access for Air Quality Information as Approved Work Item The NP/TR was approved, but didn t have enough experts nominated. There are now enough experts, ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to register an Approved Work Item to develop the technical report on Geographic Information -- The Application of Ubiquitous Public Access for Air Quality Information. The project leader will be Dr. Sungchul Hong. Approval date: Target date for IS: The project is allocated to WG 10. Resolution 850 Registration of Geographic information Spatial schema as FDIS ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to review the comments received in document N4676 and will, in cooperation with the editor, update document N4616 accordingly and forward it to the ISO Central Secretariat for FDIS ballot. Resolution 851 Registration of Geographic information Referencing by coordinates as DIS ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to review the comments received in document N4603 in cooperation with the editor, to update document N4576 accordingly and forward it to the ISO Central Secretariat for DIS ballot.
4 Resolution 852 Registration of Geographic information Data product specifications as DIS ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to review the comments received in document N4604 in cooperation with the editor, to update document N4577 accordingly and forward it to the ISO Central Secretariat for DIS ballot. Resolution 853 Publication of ISO Geographic information - Crossdomain vocabularies ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to review the comments received in document N4678 in cooperation with the editor and to update document N4573 accordingly. Because of the Vienna Agreement, ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to request CEN/TC 287 Geographic Information to initiate a ballot to skip formal vote stage. Assuming CEN/TC 287 accepts skipping the formal vote, the ISO/TC 211 secretariat will forward the ISO updated document to the ISO Central Secretariat for publication. Resolution 854 Cancellation of the projects ISO Geographic information - Web Feature Service and ISO Geographic information - Filter encoding Considering the major restructuring required of the two standards, ISO Geographic information - Web Feature Service and ISO Geographic information - Filter encoding, ISO/TC 211 resolves to cancel the current revision of these projects. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to inform ISO central secretariat of its decision. Resolution 855 Invitation to OGC to submit a new work item proposal for Web Feature Services ISO/TC 211 invites OGC to submit a new work item proposal to initiate the work on the new multi part series of standards on Web Feature Services.
5 Resolution 856 ISO/TC 268 Sustainable cities and communities liaison establishment ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to establish a liaison with ISO/TC 268 Sustainable cities and communities. ISO/TC 211 welcomes from National Body of Australia the nomination of Mr. Chris Body. Resolution 857 Official web access for ISO/TC 211 resources to support implementation of standards ISO/TC 211 resolves to use isotc211.org for web access to its official resources that support implementation, including but not limited to, XML Implementation Schemas, XML Codelists, XML Example files, Ontologies, UML XMI files, Terminologies and Profiles of standards. Resolution 858 ISO/TC 211 URI structure ISO/TC 211 resolves that all identifiable conformance classes, conformance tests, requirements and recommendations in ISO geographic information standards shall be identified by URIs with a given structure. ISO/TC 211 instructs the convenors of TMG, XMG, GOM, PMG and HMMG to develop the structure of the URIs and web resources in a draft report lead by Mr. Knut Jetlund. The report will be sent to the ISO/TC 211 secretariat for distribution to its members one month before the next plenary meeting. Once accepted, this report will be an input to the revision of Resolution 859 ISO/TC 211 Maintenance groups structure Considering the challenge of managing implementation resources ISO/TC 211 instructs the convenors of the TMG, XMG, GOM, PMG and HMMG, lead by Mr. Knut Jetlund, to discuss the current structure of the groups and, if a change is preferable, propose a way forward. The agreed proposal shall be presented at the next plenary meeting.
6 Resolution 860 Establishment of an Ad hoc group to revise ISO/TC 211 business plan ISO/TC 211 resolves to establish an ad hoc group convened by the ISO/TC 211 chair to revise the ISO/TC 211 business plan, document N4116. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to send out a call for members to the ad hoc group after the plenary meeting. The call would also include the opportunity to give comments on the business plan. This ad hoc group will also consider scopes of the working groups aligned with the business plan. The working groups convenors shall contribute to the ad hoc group with a definition of their working group scopes as an input, deadline end of February The ad hoc group shall deliver a revised draft of the business plan and it will be presented at the next plenary. Resolution 861 Joint new work between ISO/TC 211/WG10 and ISO/TC 204/WG3 ISO/TC 211 invites a preliminary work item (PWI) for drafting one or more new work item proposal(s) for GIS/ITS-cooperation, as joint work with ISO/TC 204/WG3. Resolution 862 Establishment of a joint working group between ISO/TC 211/WG10 and ISO/TC 204/WG3 ISO/TC 211 resolves to establish a joint working group between ISO/TC 211/WG10 and ISO/TC 204/WG3 when its first New Work Item Proposal (NWIP) is approved by both TCs. ISO/TC 211 welcomes the nomination from the National Body of Norway of Mr. Trond Hovland as convenor for the joint working group. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to send a call for experts for the joint working group.
7 Resolution 863 Change of title ISO/TC211 resolves to make a part 1. The new title will be Geographic information Preservation of digital data and metadata Part 1: Fundamentals. Resolution 864 Need of synchronization for ISO Geographic information -- Geography Markup Language (GML) ISO/TC 211 recognizes the need to synchronize ISO Geographic information -- Geography Markup Language (GML) with the OGC GML corrigendum. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat in cooperation with OGC to find a mechanism for synchronizing the two documents. Resolution 865 Workshop on Classification methods ISO/TC 211 resolves to organize a workshop on classification methods during the 46th plenary meeting week. ISO/TC 211 invites National Bodies, liaison organizations and relevant committees to contribute to the workshop, their experiences with the abstraction of reality, such as top-down and bottom-up classification methods or their experiences with relevant standards. ISO/TC 211 invites the Chair of the Ad hoc group on Classification issues to convene the workshop. Resolution 866 Systematic review of ISO/TS :2014, Geographic information -- Imagery sensor models for geopositioning -- Part 2: SAR, InSAR, lidar and sonar Noting the result of the systematic review of ISO/TS (N4608) and the resolution 832, ISO/TC 211 resolves to confirm the standard. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to inform the ISO Central Secretariat about its decision.
8 Resolution 867 Systematic review of ISO 19148:2012, Geographic information Linear referencing Noting the result of the systematic review of ISO (N 4609) and the resolution 832, ISO/TC 211 resolves to revise the standard. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to inform the ISO Central Secretariat about its decision. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to send out a call for experts. ISO/TC 211 invites OGC to participate in the revision. Resolution 868 Systematic review of ISO 6709:2008, Standard representation of geographic point location by coordinates Noting the result of the systematic review of ISO 6709:2008 (N4611) and the revision proposal from Japan (N4618), ISO/TC 211 resolves to revise the standard. ISO/TC 211 invites National Body of Japan to nominate a project leader. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to inform the ISO Central Secretariat about its decision. ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to send out a call for experts. Resolution 869 Recommendations on vote on Systematic reviews ISO/TC 211 recognizes that the upcoming systematic reviews have a number of standards where the members are requesting guidance on how to vote. ISO/TC 211 recommends the following for systematic reviews with due date : ISO :2012 Geographic Information - Classification system - Part 2: Land cover meta language (LCML) Recommendation: Confirm ISO :2014 Geographic Information - Calibration and validation of remote sensing imagery sensors and data - Part 1: Optical sensors Recommendation: Confirm
9 ISO/TC 211 recommends the following for systematic reviews with due date : ISO 19117:2012 (Ed 2) Geographic information Portrayal Recommendation: Confirm ISO 19152:2012 Geographic information Land administration domain model (LADM) Recommendation: Revise ISO 19155:2012 Geographic information Place Identifier (PI) architecture Recommendation: Confirm Resolution 870 Requirements concerning subsequent meetings ISO/TC 211 adopts the following meeting schedule: 46 th plenary Copenhagen, Denmark 47 th plenary xxx xxx Facilities for WG meetings, editing committees, project teams and other meetings will be provided prior to the plenary, as required. ISO/TC 211 encourages the members to consider hosting meetings.
