2 CEN TC12 AND ISO TC67 CEN TC12 is acting according to the goal of the Industry: GLOBAL STANDARDS USED LOCALLY WORLDWIDE CEN TC12 adopts ISO TC67 Standards in EUROPE. Vienna Agreement between ISO and CEN. 5 European countries shall participate. Parallel voting of the common standards. (or UAP) European Standards become National Standards when voted 12/13 May

10 PROBLEME OF EN ISO Résolution 4 (Brussels 2004): Further to resolution CEN/TC 12 no 19 (2003), CEN/TC 12 requests CEN/CMC to withdraw EN ISO 10423:2001. This is because the document contains technical errors which could result in an unsafe product. CEN/TC 12 requests CEN/CMC to launch a one month UAP on the corrected version of this document which has been published by ISO/CS on December This replaces an earlier request (for a normal 5 months UAP) transmitted by the CEN/TC 12 secretariat on 12 December The French and German representative to CEN/TC 12 confirm that the French and German versions are not required for this UAP ballot in order not to delay the process. 12/13 May

11 PROBLEME OF EN ISO Through a CEN BT Resolution by mail EN ISO is cancelled on the 4th of march An accelerated UAP is launched until the 4th of june 2004 to accept the new ISO : /13 May

12 IMPROVEMENT OF THE PARALLEL PROCESS RESOLUTION 8 (Brussels 2004) : In order to improve the simultaneous processing of ISO/TC 67 and CEN/TC 12 standards, CEN/TC 12 requests ISO/TC 67 secretariat and its SC secretariats to transmit ISO NWIP (for new projects only) to the CEN/TC 12 secretariat such that the CEN/TC 12 secretariat can ballot the same item in parallel (or with as short a delay as possible). 13 IMPROVEMENT OF THE PARALLEL PROCESS RESOLUTION 9 (Brussels 2004) : Further to resolution 8 and in order to improve the simultaneous processing of ISO/TC 67 and CEN/TC 12 standards and noting that both CEN and ISO have made efforts to reduce the timeframe to publication of standards, CEN/TC 12 notes that CEN and ISO have taken different steps in the available options of time reduction and that the ISO ones (e. g. skipping the FDIS when 100 % approval at DIS enquiry) are not always applicable through the Vienna Agreement. CEN/TC 12 requests its secretariat to bring this to the attention of the CEN/CMC in order to investigate improvements. 12/13 May
