8 PrODUCT PORTFOLIO Signalling systems for railway infrastructure Signalling systems for infrastructure are basis for safe, fast and simple operation of railway traffic and transport. ALTPRO signalling systems are designed around wheel sensing technology. Wheel sensors are entry points for devices and systems which cover wide range of possible applications from train detection, over section management through axle counting, up to complete level crossing protection systems, including driver s indication systems, road signals, (half)barriers and remote control. All the signalling systems are certified for safety level (SIL) 4 in independent assessment body type A (according to the EN 17020) and tested on EMC and harsh environmental conditions in accredited laboratories. 9 Safety systems for rolling stock provide additional level of protection for passengers and cargo in railway vehicles, as well as other participants in traffic. Safety systems are designed around the principle of checking the driver s alertness and initiating automatic activities in case the driver s reaction is missing. ATP system, IN- DUSI based, warns the driver or automatically brakes the vehicle, Safety systems for rolling stock depending on the information collected during the passage by the signals on railway tracks. Dead man s system (SIFA) controls the drivers alertness through constant periodical tasks which the driver has to perform, and if the driver fails to do so, warns the driver and in the end automatically stops the vehicle. Unique PC application enables configuration of different requirements related to the functionality of the system and to the operation of the external protection elements of a level crossing. General Modular system based on the in-house microprocessor platform APIS-RLC consists of two independent subsystems A and B. Configurable and adjustible safety structure of each subsystem: 2-out-of-2. Basic configuration of the system has three consecutive sections for the activation/deactivation of the level crossing and for thetrain detection on the level crossing area, other configurations may have multiple sections. One system has a possibility of driving up to 8 road signals (light + sound); 2 pairs of barriers or half-barriers, functioning independently in time; up to 8 control signals for the train driver; lanterns for road light signals can be performed with double - filament bulbs or with LEDs. Each signal is monitored by both subsystems. Remote control unit in the nearest station is an integral part of the RLC23 system, it communicates with the main platform on the level crossing over the DSL (1 or 2 twisted pairs) or optical cable. The possibility of connecting up to 4 RLC23 devices in one remote communication control network. Application Interface with any type of station interlocking system (relay or microprocessor based) is provided in the station on the remote control unit. 9

11 The possibility of connecting the automatic block (relay or micropocessor based) through DSL (1 or 2 twisted pairs) or optical cable to the indoor equipment. Current of each light signal is monitored on the analogue input; allowed current ranges are configurable through the PC application as well as barriers lowering / rising time and other parameters. General The complete axle counter system consists of indoor unit BO23 UNUR, outdoor unit VUR and rail wheel detection sensor with double structure ZK24-2. One indoor unit (19 3U) controls up to 8 counting points configured on 1 to 6 sections (selection of 9 predefined configurations). Microprocessor module with 2-out-of-3 safety structure. 14 Train Detection Train Detection System TDR14 INDOOR EQUIPMENT TDR14 UNUR OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT ZK24-2 Rail Wheel Sensor ZGK Lightning Protection Module Train Detection System TDR14 is the ideal replacement for old mechanical or magnetic wheel detectors, track circuits or loops in order to modernize level crossings as well as for all applications that require safe vehicle passage detection. General Train detection system TDR14 consists of rail wheel sensor ZK24-2 on the rail, lightening protection module ZGK and indoor device TDR14 UNUR in the level crossing house or station with safety relay contact or optocoupler outputs. One sensor ZK24-2 replaces two single wheel detectors because of its doubled structure of wheel detection. Application TDR14 UNUR provides safety relay contact outputs for connection to older level crossing systems and other signalling systems Detection for speeds up to 350 km/h. 15 Train Detector UTR / ITR INDOOR EQUIPMENT UTR245 / ITR245 OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT Train Detector UTR / ITR is an ideal replacement for old mechanical or magnetic switch on / switch off detectors, track circuits or loops; one railwheel sensor ZK24-2 with its double sensing structure replaces two single wheel detectors on one switch on / switch off point. General Train detector UTR / ITR is based on the detection of rail wheels by rail wheel sensor ZK24-2, transmission of wheel pulses over the transmission line, and interface to the safety relay contact outputs or optocouplers in the interface module UTR245 / ITR245, in addition to lightning protection modules - outdoor ZGK, indoor ZUT. Application Evaluation interface module UTR245 / ITR245 provides safety relay contact outputs for connection to older level crossing ZK24-2 Rail Wheel Sensor ZGK Lightning Protection Module systems and other signalling systems. When used for switching on the LC, interface module UTR245 is located in the level crossing cabinet with output safety relays normally energized (with no wheel above the sensor); when used for switching off the LC, ITR245 has output safety relays normally not energized (with no wheel above the sensor). It is also used for the announcement of an approaching train to the station, punctual detection of the train for futher use (image recognition, RFID scanning) etc. Safety relays in interface module UTR245 / ITR245 are time delayed 5 seconds after passage of each axle (any other time parameter on demand). 16 Light rail application Axle Counter BO23-MT Rail Wheel Sensor ZK24-M Basic application of the modular Axle Counter BO23-MT system is the LRT section occupancy control (Metro, Tram, Monorail, APM / Automated People Mover ) for both block section and station section occupancy control. It can be also used for level-crossing occupancy control. General The complete axle counter system consists of the indoor unit BO23- MT UNUR and the railwheel detection sensor ZK24-2 or ZK24-M (pneumatic metro, monorail and APM applications). One indoor unit (19 3U) controls up to 8 counting points configured on 1to 6 sections plus fail safe long automatic block section control Microprocessor module with 2-out-of-3 safety structure. 4-wire connection between indoor and outdoor equipment (separate twisted pair for each detection channel). 17 TRAIN CHECKPOINT APC APC Train Checkpoint can be composed of one or more different train monitoring systems which can be installed on one location (e.g. before approaching special track structures like bridges, tunnels ), or each system can be installed separately, depending on the customer requirements. These systems can monitor different vital parts of a rail vehicle: Vehicle and axle weight Dynamic wheel forces (shape irregularities, flat spots ) Out-of-gauge loading Hot axle box detection Hot wheel and brake detection Dragging equipment detection HOT BOX installation HOT BOX & hot wheel detection (HDB & HWD) High - wide detector (HWL) Out-of-gauge rolling stock represents a big risk in case of lines with restricted zones like tunnels and bridges. The loading gauge provides the size of passenger and freight trains which can be conveyed on a specific section of the railway line. On the other hand, the structure gauge, which equals the lowest and narrowest tunnel or bridge, complements the loading gauge, which equals the tallest and widest vehicle. The gap between the two profiles and certain allowance need to be considered for the dynamic movements of the train (clearance). The High-Wide detector is composed by a number of IR sensor sets. Each sensor set consist of a transmitter and a receiver. The sets are mounted on a structure bridge. The position of the sensors on the bridge has to be defined based on the loading gauge of the line. Therefore the detection profile of the system is highly customizable depending on specific customer requirements. Dragging equipment detector (DED) The system uses accelerometers to detect g-forces of the impact from dragging equipment. A circuit is activated when an object strikes the panels with a force greater than the threshold. When the threshold is exceeded, the system provides such information to the control and evaluation unit. The unique ramp style shape of the system minimizes dangerous hits, and the heavy 6.35 mm steel panels provide durable operation. The orientation of the accelerometer sensors eliminates any flat wheel activation, and they are easily accessible. Light rail application TRAIN CHECKPOINT APC Overheated bearings and brakes represent a major safety risk in railway operations. Much emphasis has thus been placed on the detection of overheated axle bearings and blocked brakes. If these hot runners are not detected in time, this can lead to the axle fractures and eventually derailments. The system consists of the measurement sleeper with integrated measuring modules (for measuring the temperature of the axle bearings (hot box detector HBD) and brake disks and wheel rims (hot wheel detector HWD)via infrared detectors. Weigh-in-motion system (WIM) Weigh in motion system (WIM) is able to measure dynamic forces exerted by the vehicle on the infrastructure. This can be used to determine train and vehicle weights. Dynamic forces provide information about wheel irregularities, for example flat spots. The easy installation with clamp-on sensors also makes these modules suitable for temporary applications. 19 Track Balises PM500 / PM1020 Track balises (magnets) PM 500 and PM 1020 are a part of Automatic Train Protection System (ATPS) and are used in the system of control and safety of railway traffic. They are the track part of ATPS and they influence the locomotive part of ATPS as the train passes over it. Track balises are active for 500 Hz (PM 500) and 1000 Hz or 2000 Hz (PM1020) signal from the locomotive balise Hz influence: immediately activates emergency braking Hz influence: activates alertness control of the engine driver andtime control. Activates speed control once the time control is over. 500 Hz influence: controls speed on a detection point. 20 Testing devices for ATPS Automatic train protection system consists of central device RAS8385, locomotive and track balises as well as signal and operating elements located in the locomotive s cabin. As a safety system, AUTO- STOP should be carefully installed and maintained in proper working condition by regular and specific testing of its central and peripheral units. Testing device for locomotive balises LMI and testing device for track balises PMI2 are the ideal solution for such tests, as well as for fault detection and service of SEL, SIEMENS and ALTPRO INDUSI balises. Testing devices ASI, ASIL and IR-I15 enable the simulation of locomotive operationcentral device RAS8385 and incident recorders. 21 Dead Man s Control System (SIFA) Testing Device for Indusi track balises PMI2 Provides fast and accurate track balise parameters measurement for all types of INDUSI (Punktförmige Zugbeeinflussung PZB) track balises with resonant frequency ranges 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz (SIEMENS, SEL, ALTPRO). Instrument is set on the upper surface of a track balise. Manual resonant frequency search mode. Simple calibration frequency adjustment by turning the switchto 500 Hz (505 Hz optional), 1000 Hz or 2000 Hz. Digital indication of resonant circuit current (ma), frequency(hz) and battery voltage (V). Power supply by internal accumulator battery 12V/1.2Ah with built in charger 220V/50 Hz; enables up to 4 hours of measurement; automatic power off after closing the cover plate. The device is easy to carry around; delivered with leather bag and shoulder belt. UDB1 Dead Man s Control Unit ZS Three - tone Sound Indicator Dead man s control system is designed for all kinds of rail vehicles and consists of the control unit (UDB1), the foot switch (UP1) and the three-tone sound indicator (ZS24, ZS72, ZS110). The function of the system is to control the alertness of the locomotive driver. In case that the driver, for whatever reason, is not alert, light and sound signals are produced and eventually the braking process is initiated. Three - tone Sound Indicator ZS UP1-D, UP1 Foot Switches wide and narrow The three - tone sound indicator signals problems with the safety devices in the locomotive or train and is used for signallisation within the dead man s control system. Different types for different supply voltages 24 VDC (ZS24), 72 VDC (ZS72), 110 VDC (ZS110). Massive cast metal case. Special loudspeaker with a plastic membrane; water resistant. Three sound frequencies(tones): 400 Hz, 600 Hz, 1200 Hz. The device is powered only if one of the frequency inputs is activated, what makes the device lifecycle much longer.
