The packaging must be protected against damage from rain or high levels of humidity 7.3 Installation of the product in the works Installation information Target groups This information is directed at heating and sanitary professionals and trained personnel. Individuals who don't have the appropriate Viega training or qualifications are prohibited from performing assembly, installation and if appli- cable maintenance of this product. This restriction does not extend to possible operating instructions. The installation of Viega products must take place in accordance with the general rules of engineering and the Viega instructions for use. Media The system is suitable for the following media: QQ Drinking water Operating conditions Operating temperature max.: QQ Sanitary installations: 70 C Operating pressure max.: QQ Sanitary installations: 1.0 MPa (10 bar) Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017

Mixed installations In drinking water installations, piping components from different metals can have a detrimental effect on each other e. g. cause corrosion. For instance, e. g. threaded adapters made of stainless steel may not be connected directly with pipes or threaded fittings made of galvanised steel. Components made of stainless steel and galvanised steel may not be directly connected, thread/adapter press connectors made of gunmetal are recommended here. All Raxinox pipes may only be mounted using original accessories, Raxinox connectors with SC-Contur and the corre- sponding Raxinox / Raxofix press tools. Use with components of other plastic piping systems is not permitted. All Raxinox pipes may only be used with Raxinox connectors made of stainless steel. Mixing Raxinox components with components from other piping systems is not permitted. Should you have any questions on this subject, please contact the Viega Service Center. Information for use Chemical resistance Note! Material damage due to aggressive chemicals! Aggressive chemicals, especially ones containing solvents, can lead to material damage and leaks. As a result, it may lead to water damage. Avoid contact between system components and aggressive The system components must be protected against excessively high chloride concentrations in the media or operating environment. Excessively high chloride concentrations can lead to corrosion in stainless steel systems. The chloride concentration in the media must not exceed 250 mg/l. The rules below must be followed to prevent external contact with materials containing chloride: QQ Insulating materials must not have a water-soluble chloride ion content that exceeds 0.05%. QQ Sound insulating inlays on the pipe clamps must not contain leachable chloride. QQ Stainless steel components must not come into contact with building materials or mortar containing chloride. If external corrosion protection is required, then the following regulations must be followed: QQ DIN EN QQ DIN Storage Materials must be stored in compliance with the requirements of DIN EN "4.2 Handling of Material": QQ Store rods on even, clean surfaces. Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017

Assembly information Mounting instructions Note! Material damage due to thread locker containing solvents! Thread lockers containing solvents can lead to material damage and leaks in plastic parts of pipe connections. As a result, it may lead to water damage. QQ Only use commercially-available hemp in connection with thread sealing paste or certified sealing tape for drinking water. QQ Using adhesive to glue the edges of the insulating material of the systeminstalled is harmless. QQ Please contact the Viega Service Center if you have any questions. Checking system components System components may, in some cases, become damaged through transportation and storage. QQ Check all parts. QQ Replace damaged components. QQ Do not repair damaged components. QQ Contaminated components may not be installed. Required tools The use of original Viega tools is recommended for installation. The following tools are required for production of a press connection: Hand or electric saws, pipe cutters and angle-grinders are not permitted. QQ press machine with constant pressing force QQ suitable press jaws for raxial press systems QQ pipe shear (model 4441) for dimensions of mm Recommended Viega press machines: QQ Pressgun 5 QQ Pressgun Picco QQ Pressgun 4E / 4B QQ Picco QQ Type PT3-AH QQ Type PT3-H / EH QQ Type 2 (PT2) Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017

Assembly Bending the pipes After straightening the coiled bundle, Raxinox pipes in 16 and 20 mm dimensions can be bent with the following bending radius values: d Bending radius x d by hand maximum number of bends 16 / x / x 90 d Bending radius x d with bending tool model 4431 maximum number of bends x x 90 Strain, which occurs during the bending of pipes, can lead to damage to the stainless steel pipe. Avoid critical strain on the stainless steel by observing the abovementioned bending radii Correct and incorrect pipe bends external view Correct and incorrect pipe bends cross section Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017

The pipe may be damaged if the bending radius is not observed or the pipe is bent many times. Examples are provided in correct and incorrect pipe bends external view and correct and incorrect pipe bends cross section. If visible or tangible material displacement occurs in the internal radius, the section of pipe affected must be replaced. The subsequent installation of a connector in the region of the bend is not possible in the case of bending radii of 6 x d and lower. Bending directly at the connector leads to kinking of the Shortening the pipes Information on tools, also refer to Required tools. CAUTION! Risk of injury (cutting) due to sharp edges! The cut edge, produced when the pipe is cut, is extremely sharp. These sharp edges can lead to injuries (cuts). QQ Take particular care when dealing with pipes that have been cut. QQ Always round off the cut edges, using the rounder of the pipe shear, immediately after cutting. Dimensions 16 and 20 mm Cut the protective pipe to length with the protective pipe cutter (model 4441). Cut pipe to length properly using a pipe shear. Turn the shear up to 20 on the pipe axis to enable easier cutting. CAUTION To avoid injuries (cuts), immediately round off the pipe end. Replace worn blades (model ). Ensure that the cut surface is clean and straight. Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017

Round off the stainless steel cut edge with the rounder of the pipe shear to avoid damage to the support body. Visual inspection of the rounded cut edge. Consistent bevel around the full cir- cumference with no sharp edges is OK. Visual inspection of the cut edge. Burr, grooves and chips not OK. Replace worn rounder with spare part set model Incorrectly rounded or not rounded off cut edges can lead to damage of the support body. If an improperly rounded off pipe is inserted into a connector, this connector must be discarded! Pressing the connection Push the pipe into the press connector until the pipe end is visible in the inspec- tion window. Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017

Check insertion depth in the inspection window. 7.4 Use, maintenance, repair The Viega (general) user instructions for use, maintenance and repair of the Raxinox piping system are applicable. For further information it is advised to contact Viega GmbH & Co. KG. Kiwa Nederland B.V January 2017
