Powered Winches and hoists used to raise curtains, scenery and other items. 2. Performer flying equipment 3. Mechanised props and moveable stage rigs. 4. Lighting equipment 5. Lifts used to raise equipment and performers to different parts of the stage or backstage areas except for lifts which fall within the scope of the Lifts Directive 95/16/EC 6. Lifting accessories and lifting equipment (As part of LOLER examinations) 7. Use of stage effects such as small, individual pyrotechnics, flame, snow, smoke, glitter etc. 8. Backstage equipment such as stage changing machinery, scenery handling, painting lifts etc. 9. Means of access, walkways, fixed and temporary ladders etc. In situ inspection of new or inservice installations. For compliance with Insurance requirements, PUWER, MHSWR LOLER Test methods will include, visual and tactile inspection. Functional testing. Measurement of sizes distances and clearances. Witnessed proof load testing Electrical testing including:- current, voltage, insulation and earth continuity checks. Documented in-house procedures which include the requirement of:- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 S.I Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 199 S.I Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 S I 2307 Annex I of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC HSE Guidance on LOLER HSE Guidance. Thorough examination and inspection of particular items of lifting equipment 429/2002 (sections of specific relevance to theatrical equipment) EN or BS standards as found to be relevant to the specific piece of theatrical equipment A more specific and comprehensive list of references can be made available at inspection.
