Technip was awarded by Petrobras a contract for the infield lines of the pilot system for the Tupi field. The field is located at a water depth of 2,200 meters in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, approximately 300 kilometres off the Brazilian coast. The contract included the engineering, procurement, manufacturing and supply of 90 kilometres of risers and flowlines for water injection, oil production, gas lift and carbon dioxide (CO2) reinjection. In addition to a new riser monitoring system, using specially designed DTS technology. PGS Suporte Logistico e Servicos Ltda (Petroleum Geo-Services Data Processing) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was awarded a three year contract by Petrobras to process a minimum 14,000 square kilometres of 2D and 3D seismic data. Expert Opinion 7.1 Eric Holley, Product Line Manager Unconventional Resources, Pinnacle-Halliburton Eric Holley joined Halliburton in July 2006 as a Stimulation Field Engineer in the Rocky Mountains, United States. Since March 2014, he acts as the company s Product Line Manager Unconventional Resources managing business decisions around technical development, market tactics, and product launch for all Pinnacle products dealing with unconventional resources. He has published numerous policy papers related to the Fibre Optic distributed temperature and acoustic sensing and is an expert in the field of DAS-DTS. Eric has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Purdue University. Eric Holley: Pinnacle/Halliburton purchased Optiphase in They developed DAS systems and many other very valuable optical dynamic modulation systems. We now have their systems and R&D focused exclusively in the upstream oil and gas market. The primary focus for our business is using DAS for injection and production profiling. We are also developing the technology for VSP acquisition, leak detection, and cross well far field monitoring, among others. Visiongain: What do you think gives your company a competitive edge over those also implementing fibre optic monitoring solutions? Eric Holley: The most significant differentiator we provide is being able to take fibre optic data and integrate that with our other far field and near wellbore sensors to generate results that fiscally impact oil and gas operators.
