5 Fire protection doors can be fitted with inlet, outlet and ceiling shutters and be adapted decoratively so that an identical outer appearance can be ensured. The Company Jansen allows almost every planking the costumer requires from basic to exclusive, e.g. painting, wallpaper, stainless steel, textured plastering, glass or natural stone. This invisible fire protection prevents an optical interruption of high-quality wall coverings. Only Jansen has recess shutters, which open up to 180, to guarantee a full opening width even by small dimensions with escape doors. Have a look at some of our reference projects. 7 The Lufthansa Aviation Center shows how a very high level of design can be combined with the requirements of structural fire protection. Lufthansa presents itself as a transparent enterprise with an open culture, which puts a lot of emphasis on communication. All this was meant to be expressed in the new Lufthansa Aviation Center. The company Jansen met these requirements with the installation of the telescopic sliding door and was able to convince by the elaborate design of the recess shutter, which so ensure an invisible fire protection. 9 Building the Neue Landesmesse Stuttgart, telescopic sliding doors T90/ EI90 with recess shutters as well as single and double winged sliding doors T30/ EI30 and T90/ EI90 were installed. Furthermore T30/ EI30 AQUISO roller doors, T30/ EI30 sectional doors and lattice doors were incorporated. With more than 70 delivered fire protection gates and over 900 fire protection doors the Jansen Retail Office South was able to complete one of its largest orders. 11 The topic safety and fire protecton were also emphasised in the implementation of the new main train station in Berlin. The scope of service for this project included a total of 20 AQUISO roller doors T30/ EI30. Apart from the roller doors also four sliding doors T90/ EI90 were installed in the dome by the passages between trains, city trains and underground. The peculiarity of the implementation of this project consisted mainly in the extreme dimensions of the doors, next to high requirements regarding design. By the application of stainless steel inlet, outlet and ceiling shutters a sophisticated high-quality design was realized. Recess shutter in closed state 11

15 The reconstruction of the large multifunctional ESPRIT-Arena was not easy to handle and was reerected with many merits. For the ESPRIT-Arena Jansen delivered 50 fire protection curtains out of steel for the kiosk area, four combination door systems for the diagonal tunnels in the corner areas and a stacking door of an enormous special size with a width of 14 m and a height of 16 m below the northern stand. 17 Reference project: Photo Gallery Lumas, Hamburg The challenge of this project lay in partitioning an old building with small rooms off in terms of fire protection so that as little exhibition space as possible was lost and at the same time an as open, bright and modern design as possible was ensured for the gallery. Therefore double winged T30 RS/ EI30 sliding doors were installed on the two upper floors, which meet in a 90 angle without supports. Due to the high demand on the visual appearance the doors were additionally fitted with outlet shutters. In all of Europe Jansen was the only company who dared to take up this challenge. This special construction can be executed as T30/ EI30 and T90/ EI90 and as a smoke protection version. Additionally, in case of little lateral space, the corner solution can be executed with T30/ EI30 and T90/EI90 telescopic sliding doors. 17

19 Reference project: ISAS, Dortmund An extraordinary challenge lay in the planning and installation of an semi-circular smoke protection lifting door with a clear width of almost five metres. For reasons of smoke protection the formerly exactly semi-circular lifting door became a door with eight individual elements. The butt-joints meet precisely. This required wider and narrower cover plates which finally resulted in an exact semi-circular shape. The electromotive lifting and lowering of the door takes place via a rigid shaft with lifting straps in different lengths. The lifting straps run over guides which align independently. This alignment is also ensured during automatic feed, even in case of smoke hazard. Inside view: semi-circular lifting door consisting of eight single elements 19

Assembly Apart from the delivery of door systems Jansen naturally also carries out the assembly and installation of the products. Due to our own skilled assembly operators Jansen guarantees a smooth implementation from the actual installation via the electronical installation up to the acceptance inspection. Inspection & Maintenance All-around one-stop service means that Jansen not only takes care of the compulsory inspection for door systems (according to inspection regulations of the respective federal state and the rule of the professional association) but also offers additionally the maintenance of the door systems on request. Customers thus not only save money but also a considerable amount of time. The difference between maintenance and inspection is that for maintenance additional work routines according to the manufacturer s guidelines are carried through for the preservation of performance properties. After completion of the respective maintenance or inspection the customer receives an inspection record in which all implemented work routines as well as possible faults are stated. For fire-protection closures with lock systems, the operator is obliged to periodical monitoring through qualified persons according to the guidelines for lock systems, published by the German Institute for Constructional Engineering in Berlin. Furthermore the performance of fire-protection door systems with lock systems has to be checked by the operator.
