Whatever their sector of activity, companies focusing on creation and innovation experience higher than average levels of growth, and export more than most of their competitors; in most cases, exportation relates to between 70 and 80% of turnover. It s a fact: creating innovative added value stimulates demand and distinguishes you from the competition. This is why small design manufacturers have a major role in the industry; as outsiders, they dare to take risks that the bigger companies wouldn t allow. At the same time, this initiative poses a real risk to those young companies in these times of uncertainty all the more reason to applaud it. The French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in the United Kingdom in collaboration with the VIA (association promoting Valorisation of Innovation in Furnishing) is delighted to assist these companies in their steps toward export, with one particular goal in mind: to lead them to awaited success. The French Pavilion at 00% Design London, now for the 6th consecutive year, confirms this willingness, considering the UK capital as the place to gain market share on an international scale. 6 08 CONFIDENCE AND LIGHT Since 999, Confidence and Light has designed and manufactured lighting devices for the workplace in France. Every technical and environmental aspect is taken into account while designing fluorescent or LED lights: quality, ergonomics, and energy-saving among others. The table and versatile armchair Le 8, which can be transformed into a deck chair in seconds, are made of wood and a plant fibre resin giving them a glossy surface without any chemical treatment. 8 LAORUS Laorus designs unique fountains and outdoor showers in galvanised coated steel that can be placed in private gardens and public spaces, thus reviving a long tradition in Europe. They are manufactured in Northern France, a region well-known for metalworking.
