1 DAVID HARBER WINS QUEEN S AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE We are delighted to announce that David Harber, the eponymous brand founded by the celebrated British artist and sculptor, is to receive a Queen s Award for International Trade. The award is given in recognition of the company s outstanding growth in overseas earnings over the last three years, including an increase in its proportion of overseas sales from 22.6% to 40.3%. Announced each year on the 21st April the Queen s birthday the awards recognize exceptional achievement in business and represent the highest honour that can be bestowed on a UK company. 2 David Harber was founded in 1992, with the creation of the company s most famous piece - the armillary sphere - David Harber s repertoire quickly expanded and it now specialises in the design and manufacture of high value tailored or bespoke sundials, water features and interior and exterior sculptures as well as larger scale works for private homes, palaces and public institutions. The company s portfolio spans the globe from America to the Middle East with notable projects as far afield as Dubai, Bahrain and Singapore. Selling to wealthy individuals as well as to civic and corporate clients, the company focuses mostly on the USA as well as Switzerland, the Middle East, Australia and Singapore. It promotes its products using a sophisticated multi-folder web site hosted in the USA, UK and USA-based sales teams targeting specifiers and it maintains regular contact with its database of both specifiers and clients. David Harber works have been commissioned for many prestigious projects including the Al-Rawdha Palace, Bahrain, Zabeel Park, Dubai, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, France and Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia, amongst others. Highlights include undertaking Royal commissions throughout the world, two of which have been unveiled by HM Queen Elizabeth herself. David Harber has also amassed a celebrity following and has undertaken private commissions for a host of eminent clients including Dame Judi Dench and George Michael. The company exhibits every year at the RHS Chelsea Flower show and is a five times winner of the show s Sundries trophy.
