1 Fine Fabric Shade Installation Safety Care & Cleaning Warranty Thank you for purchasing our Fine Fabric Shade. With proper installation, operation, and care your new shades will provide years of beauty and performance. Please review this instruction booklet and the enclosed packing list before beginning the installation. If your shading has a protective plastic cover on the fabric-covered headrail, keep the plastic in place until the shading is installed.

2 FABRIC SHADE INSTALLATION Before Starting Your new fabric blind is custom made to your specifications from the finest fabric available. The installation should be easy and your blind should fit beautifully. Mounting Options Inside mount: Blind is mounted inside the window frame, either to the top of the frame or to the sides Outside mount: Blind is mounted either on or outside the window frame. Note: Mounting screws provided are suitable for most mounting surfaces. See below for additional suggestions. For wallboard or plaster: Use the hollow wall anchors (not included) for added support. For concrete, stone, brick or tile: Use an appropriate drill and appropriate anchors before fastening the screws. For metal surfaces: Pre-drill holes and use appropriate anchors before fastening the screws. Step 1. Mounting brackets 1. The brackets should be positioned approximately 1/8 out from each end of the headrail. 2. Using 2 screws per box bracket, fasten the brackets to the mounting surface. Leave brackets in open position. Using Box Brackets Inside mount - mount brackets in the courners of the frame. Outside mount - outside edge of the brackets should be positioned 1/8 to outside of the headrails end mark. Mark position of the bracket as illustrated. 3 Step 2. Mounting center support brackets (only for blinds over 42.5 wide) 1. When only one center support bracket is provided, position the center bracket in the center of the two mounting brackets. The center bracket can be 2 to 3 to the right or left of center to make sure it does not interfere with mechanical components of the blind. (If more than one center bracket is provided, they should be spaced evenly between the two mounting brackets.) 2. Using 2 screws per bracket, fasten the bracket(s) to your window frame or wall. For inside mount, use the top holes. For outside mount, use the back holes. Fig. B Step 3. Installing the blind into the brackets 1. Important step (Fig. A) Clip the valance clips onto the headrail. DO NOT attach valance at this time. 2. (Fig. B) Make sure the blind is in the open position to make this step easier. Fit the headrail into the brackets (1) and close the (2). Installing the child safety tension device Dangling or accessible cords on window coverings can pose an accidental strangulation hazard to infants and young children. It is recommended that the child safety tension device be installed to remove slack from cords. Step 6. Installing hold down brackets (only if you have ordered hold down brackets) 1. Lower the blind to the desired height. 2. Position the hold down bracket to align the tab Fig. E Fig. F Wall 3. Mount the bracket using the two screws provided To raise or lower the blind, release the bottom rail from the brackets by pulling the brackets away from the bottom rail. Window Frame 2

4 CHILD SAFETY WARNING Window cords can pose a potential strangulation hazard to young children. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, corded window coverings are among the top five hidden hazards in American homes. Check your window coverings for exposed or dangling cords and retrofit or replace them with today s safer products. Safety experts recommend using only safety tension device window coverings in homes with young children. PREVENTION BEGINS WITH AWARENESS Position cribs, beds, playpens and other furniture on walls without windows and window cords. Check your current window treatments for exposed or dangling cords. Keep cords out of reach of children. Eliminate any dangling cords with cord cleat. Permanently anchor continuous cord loop window covering cords to the floor or wall.

5 WARNING NOTIFICATIONS The window coverings industry uses warning tags, warning labels and other methods to communicate the potential hazards of corded window coverings. The warnings shown here, for example, communicate the important message about cords being a potential strangulation hazard, and suggest choosing cordless alternatives or products with inaccessible cords. Together with the Window Covering Safety Council, we encourage you to install only cordless window coverings in rooms where young children play and sleep. 6 CARE & CLEANING Cleaning Procedures Our fine fabric shades are made of 100% polyester, which means they are inherently durable and resilient. Also, our patented fabric coating prevents dust and dirt buildup. Dusting Regular light dusting with a feather duster is all the cleaning needed in most circumstances. Vacuuming Use hand-held vacuum with low suction, for more thorough dust removal. Forced Air Blow away dirt and debris between the vanes using clean compressed air.

7 L I M I T E D LIFETIME WARRANTY Your fine fabric shades will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, provided that the product was installed properly. The limited lifetime warranty is extended to the original purchaser only, in the original window for which it was intended. The warranty does not include any condition or damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, failure to install properly, or others instances outside of our control. This warranty also does not apply to conditions resulting from normal wear and tear. To obtain service, contact the dealer from whom you purchased the product. We will repair or replace defective parts or components at no charge. This warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other obligations, liabilities or warranties. In no event shall we be liable for incidental or consequential damages, or for any other damage, loss or expense, cost or fees associated with such damage. In some states, exclusion for incidental or consequential damages are not allowable. This warranty does not cover any transport, removal, or re-installation charges which may occur as a result of defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
